The people on this thread are hilarious first things first there is nothing illegal about the blockade of gaza. Two things you guys need to read the 1909 Declaration of London. this was updated in 1994 in a document called the "San Remo Manual on International Law Applicable to Armed Conflicts at Sea."

Under the key rules of international law, a blockade must be declared and notified to all belligerents and neutral states, access to neutral ports cannot be blocked, and an area can only be blockaded which is under enemy control. Guess what gaza meets these requirements Hamas has shown hostility and is an enemy of Israel. They declared the area have notified everyone.

Now for Turkey there is no way Turkey would attack Israel before they would even consider this they would have to drop out of NATO.As much as people here want to live in a fantasy world. And least we not forget there trying to become a member of the EU and I am sure attacking Israel will screw that up. The only country that would have a reason to stand up against Israel is Iran and dont kid yourself its not to protect the palestinians at all.

Some people in this thread REALLY don't know what the heck they are talking about! It's hilarious! Don't comment unless you really know how things work and have worked in the past!

In the end, they are both just as guilty.. but please atleast know the topic you people are talking about!

You know what's interesting. The turks actually have a similar situation with the Kurds in their country. Kurds wanting their piece of land and turks attacking them. Kurds bombing as well etc etc. Do you see a mirror situation there?
How and why does tayyip erdogan judge israel when he does the same things at his own country.

I am not pro Kurd by the way. I just want to point out the fact that israel and turkiye have the same situation and yet they judge eachother.

this is a myth, since the footage was from the 90s AND even if it had been shot on that day, your 'conclusions' are invalid anyway, since:

you don't know who these people were and how they had been 'motivated' and a few dozen celebrating a terrorist attack cannot justify literally exterminating an entire population ('dig their own graves', try to sneak out of that formulation...)

confirmation bias at work, PR works best one those who >want to believe< doesn't it? in the end it's just a couple of pictures while the anchor is planting concepts in your psyche. i urge everyone to remember that because it'd be extremely easy to make a hitler incarnate out of every western person, when the method is properly applied. take a crime of your choice (missing persons, food-to-fuel genocide, overt and covert warfare around the globe for resources and denial thereof, surveillance state, etc, etc..) , throw in a couple of random interviews spiced up with out of place footage --> instant gratification.

look in a (clean) mirror sometime.

when bullying the weak gets boring, they move on to more exciting targets. i for one don't have a horse in this race and just hope the nukes in Icirlik are in fact encrypted. although, a couple of nuclear attacks might have a sobering effect on some, so i'm even undecided on that - go figure.

Fortunately I'm not as ignorant as yourself, I'm aware how the corrupt white mans laws have come to be in America today as well as how the corrupt bunch of zionists found themselves in Palestine.

Actually I will tell you Israel complies with International Law, and breaks it as well, just as Arab countries do when they open fire on their own citizens. Hamas violates it by using heavily populated areas, mosques hospitals and schools to launch attacks from, and to store munitions etc there.

OK, that solves it then you dont need to try and dribble crap about Israel abidding by international law any more because no-one hear is going to fall for it.

I see we have another subscriber to the bogus protocols of the elders of zion. You and some others really should learn to think and research on your own instead of being told what to beleive and just accepting it as fact unquestioned and unchallenged.
Also, funny enough only you and several other bigots seem to bring up the race / jewish issue in these arguments, which is telling. You should think about that for a minute.... sad really.

Nice try, whether the protocols were a forgery or not is not the issue, if a liar tells you that 2+2=4 hs he told you a lie? clearly not, the protocols are being acted on by jews whether you're too blind to see that or not. No-one is against all jews, not all jews call themself the chosen race, your ego surpassed your intelligence there. Anyway you might even like to look into ""jew against the illegal state of Israel and zionism", try taking up your arguments to them and see how far you get.

I believe you were the one who originally dribbled out crap about Israel legally defending themself, so again, nice try.

As stated, if Hamas and arab countries actually cared about the Palestinians, they would have worked in the begining to get them a homeland, insetad of attacking Israel time and again, and losing, only so they can cry to the UN about lost territory.......SNIP

There you go again about international law, drop it, they have no leg to stand on, not in the eyes fo the sane anyway. In regards to Israel being an illegal state and zionism being abhorrent to the masses then again I refer you to argue your invalid points to the many practicing jews who are dead against zionism and the illegal state of Israel. These are the real and decent jews.

When people with your mindset make claims that "piddily rockets" barely kill any Israeli civilians, its telling. It shows you place the same value on human life that the murders in Hamas do, which is to say they dont care about human life.

Never said anything about "piddly rockets", not sure who you're quoting there, just another mistake I guess. I did mention apaches bought and paid for by American tax-payers that have killed women and children though. How about we make it an even fight and give the Palestinians all the money and weapons that Israel has, then you wont have to worry about "piddly rockets" or suicide bombers.

Hamas would do the world as well as the Palestinian people, a favor if all member donned homocide vests and blew themselves up. At least then the Palestinians might actually make headway instead of being used by arabs and terrorists against Israel.

And the zionist jews and their gimpish blind sympathizers would do the world a favor if they went and stole some land say in Madagascar(which was offered to them actually lol), then again the poor Madagascans would be enslaved in no-time, so maybe they should all just do one big false-flag operation to kill themselves so the real jews who know Israel is illegal and who are against zionism can bring the world to once again accept jews as decent individuals.

Like I said earlier, there are human beings that need humanitarian aid. I see nothing wrong with airlifting it in,to those who need it,regardless of race, skin, religion, politics, etc. America to Africa,to the Middle East. Its sad that we are all part of the human race, but we squabble with petty differences, while people starve,or are in need. This is the crux of the problem. The haves and the have nots, and we can never move on to any type of enlightenment, unless we can see past the stupidity.

The problem with this whole situation is this: No action on anyone's part would result in more fatalities in a very impoverished Palestine. They aren't exactly innocent in the whole saga but let's be honest, they don't deserve the punishment they are being given.

Should Turkey choose not to act, then the situation will not resolve and Palestine remain cornered without a shoulder to cry on.

Should they act, multiple outcomes could occur:
Israel chooses not to take on a more powerful navy and allows aid in, Turkey and Israel sit down at a table and work out how best to resolve the whole situation. We all know I have more chance of Richard Branson coming to my house and giving me a couple million quid.

Israel sees this as a direct act of aggression and reinforces its blockade, most likely leading to skirmishes, loss of life and quite possibly war. As a NATO state, Turkey will most likely ask for reinforcement from member states, at which point things will become very blurry. Not many would want to take on Israel for the simple fact of the political impact it could have.

One thing to remember however is that Turkey functions as the main delegate in the Israeli-Syrian peace process. I find it quite unlikely that Turkey would flounce about in front of Israel in an aggressive manner unless there was more than meets the eye.

I do think that this flotilla is just the tip of the iceberg. I honestly can't see how this could go, but I am glad someone has stepped in to assist, I just wish there had been a more diplomatic and less shock and awe way of doing it.

Lets see how Israel go facing a real military

Israel has shown that they have constantly faced real threats and beaten them, Turkey will fail trying to break a legal blockade.

A blockade is only legal if it can be maintained. It is also a declaration of War, usually but as Gaza isn't a state. then there can be no declaration, rendering the blockade legality question useless. At the moment, Israel is just putting millions of people that they have a legal responsibility for. If you want to discuss what is legal, look up the rules of War and Geneva conventions - they, as the occupying power, have a legal obligation to ensure the safety and well being of the civilian population, which they fail miserably in living up to.

Oh, as for the people who are claiming "Israel has beaten the Arabs over and over", well, Turks ain't Arabs. Turkey has the largest army in NATO and a sizeable Navy and Airforce. All trained and equipped to NATO standard too. Israel, if they want a fight, is going to get one.

It is worth noting that Israel hasn't always had the winning hand against the Arabs anyway. There was the Arab legion which fought the IDF to a standstill while the Egyptians and Syrians got buggered. This force was led by British officers and British-trained Arabs. The only problem with Arab forces has been their command structure, the culture doesn't allow individuals to use the initiative or be creative, leading to a rigid and inflexible military command. With Western trained officers, they fare much, much better.

If Israel and Turkey get into a scrap, my money will always be on Turkey.

If Israel declare war against any Islamic country in a real war, rather than just bully and kill people they've stolen land off with international help, then it may well be on for young and old so to speak. Let's see over 50 islamic countries and some of their allies who may seize the chance to finish Israel once and for all. I cant see that small bit of land being defended by the jewish occupiers.

Why do you think they've done it through lies and false flag ops, they rule countries like America by proxy and get them to fight and die for thier cause, you'd have to be brain-dead not to have heard about the many examples we have in the last 50 odd years where Israel has attempted to bring America to war with Israels enemies. I think the time has come for their lies to be stopped once and for all, not to mention the time has certainly come for America to get America back in the hands of non-zionist Americans, most Americans work up to a 1/4-1/3 of the year to line the pockets of zionist jewish bankers, yes your tax-payers dollars are used to pay off the trillions of dollars in debt America is in due to allowing the privately run Federal(NOT)-Reserve(there is no reserve) to charge the government interest(which is actually forbidden in christianity and Islam) on money that they(the zionist bankers) never actually had, alot of this debt has also come from having to support wars based on lies that have been instigated by zionists in America. So these sick zionists have two main reasons to keep the world at war, one being they make a HUGE amount of money off it, and the second being to support their abhorrent beliefs of a jewish master race which involves constatnly attacking the power of the muslims who are the only ones to have the balls to stick up for themselves. Absolute absurd state of affairs

Some of the crew members. Also, since I can guees where your argument is going, a "gun" is not the only item that falls under the category of a weapon. Any object that can be used, and is used, in an offense / defensive manor can be a weapon.

I see many people mention the Kurd or the Armenian genocide but completely neglect the fact Turkey is an occupier in Cyprus since 1974.
37% of Cyprus was occupied and the Turkish territory – which is unrecognized by the UN and basically everyone else – is called the “Turkish republic of northern Cyprus”.

Not only that, but Turkey is also the occupier of a part of northern Syria, known as the Alexandretta , or Hatay Province.

The amount of hypocrisy by some of you is staggering. While you paint yourselves as anti war, you defiantly have no problem with the new / old neighborhood bully who is an occupier and a provocateur who now threatens Israel, just because it's Israel and Jewish people are involved.

We occupy Northern Cyprus because the Greek slaughtered Turkish citizens...for being Turkish. This won't happen again, be sure of that. Our military bases in Northern Cyprus would be quite handsome if there were was a Turkish-Israeli war.

good post, israel has flaunted the law since day one, and the world has had enough. turkey gets the "big balls" award for 2011 for sure. I AM afraid that isrsel will do something drastic; the UN submission for palestinian statehood happens on sept 20th, the israeli people are taking to the streets, and everyone is starting to man up and follow turkey's lead, except, of course, the US govt, but frankly we no longer hold sway on the world stage the way we once did. we, like israel, are becoming irrelevant. it would be easy to blame that irrelevancy on the current clowns in the WH, but, let's be honest: the last president that stood up to israel(JFK) caught a bullet for it. america no longer produces that kind of statesman. instead, we get bushies, clintons and obama. America needs a "boss" with some balls to make these assclowns running the world stand down. one man, with courage and right on his side, would be enough to rally the people. one man to say "hell no" and mean it; someone who can do that, and be smart enough to escape assassination. #. jason bourne for president

I take it you know nothing of the history.

Israel didnt "create" its enemies. Its enemies already existed pre-1948. Haj Amin Al hussein - the mufti of Jerusalem, was in Berlin, with Hitler, during WW2, planning to bring hitlers final solution to the Middle East..

This has nothing whatsoever to do with Israels necessary preemptive strikes. And has everything to do with a Jewish, non Arab sovereign nation in the midst of Dar Al Islam.

I wonder what Islamic scholars would have seen as a "problem" with the ME ?

Was the pre-Israel "Jewish" population in "Palestine" that high ?

Or, were they "anticipating" a mass migration per the post WW1 mandates ?

It's almost like they knew the real "final plan" !

Maybe Turkey knows something we don't know !

Some say Turkey's government is really a "secret society" descended from The Donmeh Jews

Maybe they actually help Israel by focusing on the Gaza "problem" ?

Especially if they miraculously discover "contraband".

At least someone is standing up to the Nazi like Israelis.

Turkey is probably the best country to do this, diplomatically speaking, because we all know what the US and the rest of the world would have said if Iran had done it don't we.

Turkey, is a lot harder propaganda victim than Iran would have been.

Let's see how brave the Israeli commando's are against few warships, rather than only civilian aid ships armed with clubs and bars eh?

Not so quick this time around i'll bet.

Well done Turkey.
