But you don't get the death penalty for lighting up a blunt or some other form of non-violent "crimes." The kind of people that are on death row
aren't good people who made one-time mistakes, they are there because their only intent is to do harm to others and can't operate like human beings
in normal society. You shouldn't, or at least I don't, feel sympathy for someone that would probably not think twice of raping and or killing
someone close to you, the very first chance they could. Though, I personally don't think it's anyone's place to say whether a person should die or
live, the better alternative would be life in prison, in my opinion.
People do kill people with guns, but if someone really intends to kill someone with a gun, not having a gun won't stop them, they would find another
way. You can't think of a gun as an "off switch" for human life, it takes much more then a gun and a person to kill someone. It takes a certain
mindset and motive, which could be many reasons, not just vengeance, whether it be in defense or murder.
