Which we already have the stuff and NASA is keeping it from view.
we have not met the fundamental criteria. When we " Landed " on the moon, They asked to see our tech, and offered to help us improve we declined for unknown reasons. They took this as human pride, and left us to do it on our own and lent us the craft to come to meetings.
They don't know what they are doing, for all we know they could endanger themselves. As well, someone already cracked the design before NASA was even made.
Though there is evidence to suggest attempts have been made, no working reverse engineered craft has been used. Just the loaners.
NASA does not represent the people, we represent ourselves and some of us already found ways to travel faster than light. Study Joseph H. Cater's work and Tesla's MHD drive unit, they provide ways to travel way faster than light.
All in all I agree FTL is possible. Both of these men have done plenty of research and both have amazing theories, but they are still just theories. I have not read any working experiments to date. I personally like the Alqubierre drive theory. However there are many great theories. en.wikipedia.org...
For the worse case scenario, those "aliens" could be MIEC, and they don't want people to have power
Very human response They don't really care if we have power, but in the presence of truly advanced civilizations the need to be a super power is unnecessary. If this whole Alliance is true, and we are to survive as a race we need to focus advancing our health, living situations and taking care of Earth.
We are not slow, our leaders are not true leaders but they are our servents and they are slow. Here I am building something that can be fitted onto a car and make it go faster than it could before, beat that into your heads, those that some would call leaders.
As a human race as a whole, we are incredibly slow learners. As individuals we really do not make any discoveries or evolutionary advances on our own. We have a select group of individuals that use our minds to their full potential and many of those amazing minds are working on new ways to destroy each other, or working against each other finding updated versions of technology that does us more harm than good and finding ways to clean up the mess that technology leaves behind. If a small portion of the worlds military budget and man power was put towards saving or bettering man kind we would be much further ahead. As far as the leaders go, we are their servants. That's how it's set up most of us just don't know that, or don't mind.
Oh and what are you building to put on a car to make it go faster ? Worry about fuel efficiency, there isn't a place on our populated earth where making a car go faster than most already do is more beneficial than it is dangerous. Try to invent a way to make it emission free, or fuel efficient. I too can slap a super charger on my truck and make it faster, or a turbo charger or I could work up a new device to do the exact same idea, it's been done and it doesn't serve a purpose outside of motor sports.
We do qualify, but we have to do it on our own time and by ourselves, unrestrained and independent of corrupted officials/servants. They already know that there are those who would love to prove their worth by actually doing it.
We do not qualify, we are fighting all over our planet proving we are still an immature race, and not a true civilization. Think of us as the 21 year old drunken fighters in a bar of a species. We have a whole lot of growing up to do before we will be deemed worthy. That's why the first term is to become a world society and stop killing each other. We don't even accept every individual as who they are let alone not go to war. We have a long way to go. I would love to prove my worth, and I try to do so by being civilized and helping everyone around me go just as far as I do. I don't really see that many people doing the same.
What do you think the whole "Cold War" was about? It was a final defense against those who were going to invade but stopped. I don't even see why radiation is so dangerous, I learned it's relatively harmless. If you know Orgone science, then you would understand. The Moon's pull/gravity is 98% that of Earth's.
The cold war was the definition of human nature. If we think we are right we will fight to the end, even if it means we all lose. The cold war was ended by an outside party intervention. Radiation is and will remain extremely dangerous to human tissues both on and off of Earth. In fact I believe it's a huge limitation as far as our ability to travel in deep space.

Okay, if human beings were a part of the Alliance, why would aliens need to collect human specimens? Couldn't they just ask for volunteers?

This does no make sense. If aliens can track us then surely they already knew that the moon landing was a fake.
Also, I don't see anyone being so generous as to allow a group "membership" in an "alliance" without concrete proof that they belonged. At least the joiner should have the secret handshake pat down by a certain time after membership is offered.
Another thing is if we could fool them for that length of time then please tell me why we'd want to be in their alliance, anyway?
All Ports received the following:
(ESTS) Earth Spacial Tracking Stations are monitoring 29 Alliance crafts. 9 have joined a stationary holding cluster formation above Chile. 12 have joined a stationary holding cluster formation above Southern China. 8 are non stationary and following suspected operational repeat reconnaissance trajectories.
(SSTS) Solar Spacial Tracking Stations are tracking 5 non-alliance crafts and 2 objects that have entered our solar system over the past 72 hours. The 5 non-alliance crafts and accompanying 2 objects have been designated "Highest Concern".
