The only logic missing is in your analogy. Arabs were after slaughter of Jews and driving them to the sea. Seeing as they were coming to murder and drive people into the sea, by failing to do that their territories were taken over.

If the IDF was to invade Gaza and take a huge beating that would result in a territory lost, wouldn't you support that? Wouldn't you be glad to say how justify the Arabs are in taking over territories by fending off an attack on their legal soil? Ofcourse you would.

The british divided the land as they saw fit. The Arabs, who were not even the owners of the land, didn't like it and resorted to violence to drive out the new people that have been given a share of the country. Upon failing they lost their grounds one after another by default.
