Why some forums all of sudden stopped showing up in my feed on recent posts?

I thought it was very strange that I was not seeing any posts yesterday in Fragile Earth appearing in my listings when I clicked on "recent posts". They were there just the day before. I have looked directly in that forum and see that I have been missing a lot of new topics. I just thought maybe it got quiet with all the evacuations going on. But that does not seem to be the case.

Did I click on something that removed those replies/new topics from the feed? I have looked and can't find out how to get them back. I did just notice, before posting this, that there was some link to click to view things removed, or something like that. When I clicked on that, appears other forums as well that I had no idea I was missing posts on.

How do I make it so that ALL forums appear in the view when I click on RECENT POSTS at the top of the page?

It could be that the thread was deleted by the mods, or over time the topic lapsed in replies and was replaced on the recent posts section by more active threads. You can try searching for the topics, if you click on the link and it shows a 404 page, it was deleted. If you find it, and it is still open, when you post a new reply, it will shoot right to the top (there or thereabouts) on the recent posts list.

I see now that even this topic is not showing up on the recent threads either.

It's still showing up for me, that's how I knew to respond I'm not the most tech savvy, so if you still can't find an answer you could try emailing a mod, other than that I can tell you if this topic disappears for me, then we know something is up

Thanks for your time. A bunch of topics are showing up under "Show Removed Forums"...but I would never remove Fragile Earth - its my favorite! And I see quite a few others that I had no idea I was missing out on. I just want to know how to undo the removed.

Hit the green plus sign on the Show Removed Forums page to add them back in.

Actually, I think something strange is going on.

I too noticed the new-firehose feed doesn't not work right.

It seems to yield different results when I refresh, and I clearly can't find threads I just authored within the last hour or so...

I started this thread @ 15:23.

But it's obviously not listed.

503 Service Unavailable

No server is available to handle this request.


^^^ and the 504 timed out error has come up also.

Both a few times in the last few things I've tried to open. The timed out error came up way too fast to have been timed out - like immediately.

Looks like they have some work on their servers to do.......

Me too.....everything is super slow also.

And then there's the 404 thought police.....

It showed up when I clicked on "recent posts"

i got some issue with ats too

once i click on new topics it shows me topics from 30/8/2011 3:33
and when i click again it shows topics from 29/8/2011 18:27
and it randomly shifts between those 2 times when iam clicking

i rechecked and it still happening, only that 30/8/2011 3:33 is getting new topics (ofcourse) and the other one is not

it may have something to do with the time offset issues...

actually do you see when i posted my posts up here and when i edited them?

I understand what you are trying to say.

I don't think it is quite the same situation. I have so many topics under the "show removed forums"..

I looked for the + to add them back in...there are no + to do so. (recommendation of Super Mod).

I don't know what to do to rectify it....I have looked and tried to no avail...

I have also experienced this same kind of weirdness - I actually think that it may be connected to how certain categories of forums are coded - I started a thread once in Fragile Earth at it never appeared on the list - I posted a question about it on the Board Questions forum but never got a response. Maybe your thread will wind up bringing us a Mod to fill us in on the mystery!
