Frankly, I hope the human race is better than this, and that we can find peace (without an outside influence) with all of our brothers and sisters.

Have to say to OP that I don't think that your confrontation approach towards people you disagree with do you, or race relations any good, instead it just stirs things up - which is after all what I thought you were against.

My own opinion is that the fault lies on both sides, both on those dependent on using their skin colour as an excuse for lack of achievement and on those that harbour racist views.

I hope that anybody with an ounce of dignity, no matter how angry at their 'own', would not stand for racism, or justify the views of racists because of the behaviour or a minority that share their skin colour.

I hate that just cause I'm white, black people assume I'm racist. I mean, I worked hard and got to a higher position, but majority I come in contact with (at work) won't follow my directives and think when I use the term "people," its a derogative statement directed at their race, when in actuality, its a term that describes any group of human beings. If you expect a racist comment from an individual before you have a conversation with them, you, in turn, are Racist. Theres a lot of things I'm sure everyone can say they hate eventually. Just ignore it and be a better person and move on and extend a bridge. Don't be a hater.

Racism is like a cat begging for food...if we all would just stop paying attention to it it would go away. But for TPTB, they love anything that seperates us as humans. And unfortunately we have people that buy into racism and classism.

Like many I am fed up of the race card, I'm not saying it does not happen and from my view as a UK person looking at the states it definitely does happen there BUT to what extent is it genuine ie how much is 100% racism and how much is it just the race card being played.

Here in the UK the white vs black thing is much less of an issue, we do have race issues but less so between whites and blacks, normally its towards certain economic migrants to here.

But still its tried from time to time, we have a black girl with two young children just moved in, she has a sister who visits also with 2 young kids, now these two refuse to show the other tenants the same respect they want, they have loud parties, the kids scream in the block at all times of the day and night and they like to row with people.

But in the midst of a row the other night the sisters decided to play the race card, "do you have a problem with colour" was screamed at one tenant, at no point had race, colour or creed been mentioned but the card was played, at which point I laughed at her and said "are you seriously trying that one?"

The reply, "well you can ##SNIP## white boy"

Oh the irony...

The card was also played by many thugs during the riots here a few weeks ago, apparently these young thugs who were better dressed than me, sporting gold and watches I could never afford were "hard done by", "oppressed" and various other get out claims rather than admit to being lazy vandals and common criminals.

We must deal with serious racism where it happens but we must stamp out the culture of using the race card, for me "is it because I'm black, white, Mexican, African etc etc" cuts no weight for me.

In this day and age if a black man were to move into the deep south he would more than likely be made to feel at home, however if a white family decided to move into south central they would likely be murdered.

I agree with you based on living in the "Combat Zone" in Boston and in the South. I see a heck of a lot less racism and a lot more friendliness and good manners here in the South.

I can agree to disagree with this threads subject matter, but while many always blame some other group for their plight in life, I ask myself as others do why the black race has allowed itself to be the race that so many dislike or disapprove of?

When I say dislike or disapprove of, I refer to how the black race has willingly and whole hog embraced a life style that is called hip hop, with baggy pants and a gangster look with gold chains and hats that are always worn differently. Everyone wants to be a rap star or a basketball legend and yet this limitation is never complained about by the black race because of course it profits those that support it and that is how the slave mentality begins.

The black music industry is intended to keep blacks separate but not equal. It is a slave mentality that has kept the black race appearing as the negative blight of America that blacks seem to accept while they blame whitey for all their folly in life.

Ask a black person who they fear most when they go to an ATM after dark? Does fear come to mind if they see a white man in a suit and tie or is it the black street thugs that prey on innocent victims? Most honest black people will tell you they fear their own race more than whitey and I say that is part of the bigger problem that blacks refuse to tackle and deal with within black communities.

This problem will come home to roost as soon as civil and social barriers break down after some national disaster. This is when black on black violence will become the very first victims to social chaos, long before they go after whitey. First they will rape and murder other blacks in black communities like the immoral animals they will be acting like and only when they go to fight whitey will they find out that its not going to be like in the movies.

Is it any wonder society sees blacks as promoted failures that are encouraged to be as ignorant as they want to be? Why is there no outcry in the black community over such tactics? Why indeed.

Where is the focus on blacks helping to better their race instead of destroying it for a few dollars? Nowhere and that is just another example of why blacks are perceived as a different race, foreign to what America stands for.

It is this negative racial perception that feeds the color distinction and those that are honest with themselves will see it. I personally don't like it myself, but I see it and understand it for what it is.

Yes, I can agree that we should not judge others by the color of their skin, but you see, its much more than just skin color. Its about attitude, and believing that self discipline and self achievement matters. Without it, any race is going to be frustrated with the solutions that supposedly come from politicians and from community organizers who openly promote a separate nation for blacks all together while never discussing the hard issues that bring down the black communities.

While white people may be the white devils that most black people talk about, the black race should look at itself and realize that the black race is filled with those that appear worse at times and no better than whites.

There are even racists among blacks who judge other blacks who are lighter or darker and that is a known fact, so no race is above the ignorance of such behavior.

It is time to see that being a willing slave to a system of exploitation can never be ceased or corrected until blacks see that they have a lot of work to do within the black community, long before they should go tell the white man how badly they feel they have been abused by the white system of racism that has become a permanent fixture in our society.

Not until blacks take some pride in America as Americans will there ever be a changing of attitudes.
