I live in Suffolk County and a basement apartment. Is the chances higher or lower that my place is going to flood. Also if a tree fell on me after hitting the house and no1 was around, would i make a sound?

You raise a good question. I'd suggest you get out of your basement - so a tree doesn't fall on you / a leak strikes and you drown to death due to heavy rain.

I don't know the elevation you are at, but....

Try to look at the bright side.

Instead of a flooded apartment, you may soon have a indoor pool.
How many of us have dreamed of something like that...and you're getting it for FREE!
