The audit results from the Venezuela election confirm that there was no fraud. Publication should occur tomorrow or Sunday. International
organisations such as the Carter Center and the OAS have endorsed the results.
...They say more than 30% of 150 randomly chosen polling sites have been checked so far - confirming the outcome of the vote there. ... Mr Chavez,
whose populist policies have split Venezuelan opinion, officially won the poll with 59% of the vote.
The audit is being carried out by the official electoral authority - the Venezuelan National Electoral Council - and international observers from the
Carter Center and the Organization of American States (OAS).
Mr Chavez has urged the opposition to have the "grace" to accept the result and called for national reconciliation.
The referendum was activated after the opposition collected signatures from 20% of the population - a recall mechanism inserted into the Venezuelan
constitution by Mr Chavez in 1999.

I have seen many comments in some places about Chavez being a "dictator".
It is hard IMHO to draw that conclusion about a leader who won two general elections and six referendums on his power, including the latest recall
referendum whose mechanism HE himself introduced into law and then SUBMITTED to!
Hopefully this will quiet down the sceptics. This is by all accounts a legitimate democracy and if the majority of Venezuelans support his policies
then others (read foreigners) must accept them.
