Brazilian Dogs go under the knife
"Plastic surgery is good for dogs," declares the website of Dr Edgard Brito.

There follows a list of available procedures: wrinkle-reduction, eyebrow-correction and even full canine facelifts.

"Why shouldn't a dog be beautiful?" asks Edgard.

"Beauty is desirable. We all like talking to someone who looks good and smells nice. It's the same with dogs."

On the wall is photographic evidence of Edgard's success. He is pictured with a who's-who of Brazilian models, actors and television presenters, all of whom have asked the Sao Paulo vet to beautify their favourite pooch.

"He's a miracle worker," smiles Anita Alt, a dog breeder specialising in miniature schnauzers.

What can I said, beauty is not in the eye of the beholder but it is seek and choose over other lest beautiful.

And I will tell you when you are beautiful you get the best treatment and oh boy do you take advantage of it for personal gain.

That this is wrong? Heck yeah but not when is in your own interest. Ha, ha, ha,

Yeah, I agree with you Ocelot, that's some pretty stupid #. This kind of thing pisses me off, just like people who get their animal pierced.

I mean, get your self pierced and suffer if you want, but leave your freaking dog alone.

That's it, the truth is out there, I'm an animal lover.

Well, morbid, if yoiu think in those terms, what about people who get their dog's tail cropped? (Im not for animal abuse, Im just curious as to your response.)

Sometimes when people do that, it's not just for estethic reason.

Some dog can send a chair flying just by hitting it with their tail.
Anyway, I was just talking about the extreme stuff, not the usual.

edit: Come on JustAnIllusion, don't tell me you're the kind of person who would get a nice silver ring in the eyebrow her your doggy/cat/whatever?

Of course not. I have a soft spot in my heart for animals. I was just trying to look at it from a different perspective. My dog, (which was a stray when I found him) has his tail cropped. And I was wondering why, if thats not animal abuse, then why is piercing your animal? Or isnt there a surgery people get on their dogs ears to make them stick up? Isnt that like plastic surgery?

I love animals.

What has been done to dogs over the ages is repugnant.

They are all decendent from wild species yet today we have things like toy dogs for rich women to pamper and carry around in their purses.

Pinning a dog's ears up with plastic surgery or cutting tails is cruel in my opinion. It's not "natural" for that dog. How would like to be an amputee or having your ears cupped forward permanently?

Whats next? Botox for pugs? I know someone who had their dogs vocal chords cut cuz it barked to much. It was too funny. You'd go over there and the dog would run around barking, but no noise. Not a bad idea.

Does anyone know where I can get my dog a tatoo?

Yes, there is an operation that people get to their dog's ears. Again, it's just so it look like the owner want them to look, not so the dog hear better.(at least I think, not sure) So what's the whole utility of this? Why not buying a dog with ears that points in the air if that's how you want your dog?

Maybe if they were less tortured, fewer of them would go crazy and wound or kill people.

That is really cruel, and I mean think of the dog! If I was the dog I would be like "WILL YA NOT F**K OFF?! Ive told you I dont WANT tits that drag along the ground! I mean... Im no b*tch!"

If sombody tried to do that to MY dog they would need most of their face repaired so they might NEED plastic surgery!

I agree with those who say it should be in animal abuse- how can people justify it- the dog doesnt have a choice.

I think cropping your dogs tail is mean aswell- i love it when dogs wag their tails. Ive heard that some dogs used to have it done to go down the mines- they would crop their tail so they wouldnt get caught and ripped off or anything- looking at it from that point makes it kinda alright- because its in the dogs best interest.

I have a huge soft spot for animal- in films i get more upset if an animal dies or gets hurt!!
