as the Democrats controlled the Congress under Bush.

That is a misleading statement.

Under Bush, the republicans were in control of the 107th, 108th & 109th Congress. It wasn't until the 110th Congress that Democrats took control.

107th: en.wikipedia.org...
108th: en.wikipedia.org...
109th: en.wikipedia.org...
110th: en.wikipedia.org...

Okay and your point? We went to war with Iraq and Afghanistan in 2001 which accounts for an insane increase in spending, along with the growth of government on an unprecedented scale. in 2006 the democrats took over and didn't do anything to reduce the amount of federal spending. In fact they increased federal spending.

Here is a link Discussing Fiscal Policy time lags.

And here is a chart showing that government spending hasn't done anything but increase.

The fact of the mater is this thread is political trolling at it's finest. Just the inclusion of trying to say the Tea Party is being hypocrites when they haven't had a chance to implement any of their policy goals is pointing out the glaring hypocrisy that the OP is supposedly writing a thread against.

My point is to get the facts straight. It is unfair (and an outright lie) to say that the democrats controlled congress while Bush was president; when, in fact, they controlled congress for 2 of 8 years (25%). And while I'm fact checking, How about I correct you in your quoted post above. The democrats took power back in congress in 2007, not 2006 as you suggest.

I can guarantee you the OP of this thread never made a thread about all the policies that democrats and the media railed about under Bush, but say nothing now that they're guy is carrying out the same policies.

Hypocrisy indeed.

Also yes, The Democrats took control of congress in November of 2006 when they won the seats. Its semantics really.

It's easy to prove.

Under Clinton it was a Republican Controlled Congress. Under Bush it was a Democrat controlled congress. I shouldn't have to provide any sources as this is all common knowledge.

Apparently not that common, else you would have known that 'Dubya' had a Republican Congress for 6 of the 8 years he was in office... You really need to do your homework because you are posting complete fallicies...

How was it informative. All he did was use MSM spin to dismiss the current administration of blame. A great example is how he conveniently forgets that the "Bush tax cuts" are actually the Obama tax cuts, since he is the one who last signed them in to law.

This is just another example of how partisan left wingers see themselves as above partisan politics when the reality is they're knee deep in to it.

Great title and great post. Pretty eyeopening too if people actually take the time to study it.

Thanks for putting this together.

And you have done nothing but run your mouth and make unsupported accusations... Don't just hop on a soap box and spout more rhetoric... Do some damn research and PROVE ME WRONG! All I did was gather data and interpret it... The ball is in your court and all you keep doing is whining and complaining... You said much and proved NOTHING... So put up or shut up and move along...

Not to hard to figure out the more amount of money you spend and not get back or pay off bils the further in debt you go.So all presidents are guilty of this eocnomy debt mess.Blame credit cards for more debt, blame war, blame 9/11 and al-qeada.Blame digital technology for giving even more debt.Blame social secutiry and insurance companies who think they can spend money wiser and smarter than yourself.Commom Sense is not sued at all with this subject. All they do is point fingers at each other when both sides have done the same thing and allowed the american public to do it as well. They also allowed jobs to go over seas.

You have learned well. You are using the same talking points in fact. You are right about hypocrisy. Your solution is to add to the divisiveness by engaging in the exact same behavior and labeling anyone who does not agree with you. Like I said, you are well trained. You have fallen for it hook, line and sinker.

Is there any upside to schilling for either Party? Your post is a great example of how this works. Nothing will ever be fixed as long as the blame game continues. All hail Obama! All hail Bush! Or is it damn you all for ruining our country?

Also there are some glaring errors in those numbers. Surely you noticed?

I'm so tired of both sides blaming each other it realy is time to blame the real culprits in this mess and that is the insane hateful insanity of the islamic world wihich is growing into yet another massive hateful bigotry isanity towards jews.If you cannot blame yourself in this life on mistakes you have not found truth.

If this country wants to survive join together and realize how sick and twisted the islamic world is and understand they along with Hitler, communism, socialist in Europe,anti-semitism and greed and selfishness is the real culprit and way way to much progressive government policies have not helped either.

I hate to say this,as much as I do not want any more wars and what not.Seems to me it is gonna happen all over again to fix this mess.Since 9/11 the stuff we are doing to ourselves and the people we are freinds with is not working at all.Nato goes gung ho after Gadhafi. Why the heck would Nato not do this after Osama Bin Laden right after 9/11 happened.Argued with Bush over Iraq the whole time.We should ahve went guns blazin into Afghanistan and treated it like World War 2 and everyone else should have followed who believes in real change. How Hitler was stopped. So there is definetly hypocrisy going on like crazy.

Agreed! There is no need to accuse anyone of a conspiracy. What is happening is overt and obvious.

The fact that ordinary people can be convinced to argue in defense of insurance companies, as it was during the US healthcare debates. Proves just how easily the current political discourse can be manipulated in favor of the wealthy minority.

This country is being stripped and sold for parts. Systematically destroyed by these corporatists and oligarchs.
It is criminal these guys draped with the flag and carrying the cross are walking away with everything and have convinced people it is in their best interest that they give away everything of value they own and give tax breaks to billionaires for the promise of a job that never comes. Idiots.

You have corrupt officials on both sides. When I hear Nancy Pelosi and others rant, I try to imagine what I would have done to my children if they would have behaved in the same manner. They would have spent a great deal of time grounded, and I would have told them that until they can learn to speak to others in a civil manner, that they can remain in solitude.

Nancy Pelosi calling conservatives "Satan", Maxine Waters saying that the Tea Party can go to hell. Stating that the Speaker of the House is Darth Vader. Sounds pretty childish to me. I believe if you check the record you will find that the conservatives have nothing on the liberals when it comes to vile name calling. I thought it was not politically correct for bullying to take place, but when it comes to liberals, they love to be rude and crude and try to demonize and bully their opponents into silence.

When an entertainer like Rush Limbaugh acts childish you can change the channel. When our leaders act childish, it's time to worry.

while the charts are awesome,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, one big fact is left out,,, maybe conveniently
that is who contols congress during those terms

clinton knew repubs backed him in a corner and was basically stifled,,,,,, just as dems went along with bush jr's big spending when they should have shot him down

many other factors played a role such as wars,,, booms and busts, wall st scams,,,, ever growing globalism,,,, tech bursts,, etc

thru all that,,,,
can we agree we've all been screwed by the left right paradigm,,,,,,,,,, and we've been on a long slow decent while selling our kids into debt,,,kicking cans down the road

ss sounds great and many love it,,,,,,,,, can we agree it's basically a ponzi scheme,,,, that baby boomers will drain it,,,,, leaving gen x screwed,,,,,,,,,,,,,, that when a black man lives to an average 67 years,,,, he gets screwed big time
and if you invested what ss takes,,, in a avg market
you could retire with a million dollar check,,,,,,,,,, that blew my mind,,,wish i had the link handy

that if you put a dollar under a mattress,,,,,20 years from now it's worth 50 cents is wrong

statistics can be manipulated easily,,,,,,, meanwhile washington,,,not repubs and dems individually,,,, screw us

Great work! I wish this type of information would make its way into the brains of those that support the corporate takeover of our country. Then again, even if they had this info lodged in there, a majority lack the cognitive skills to process it on their own.
I find it outrageous and almost comical the way some of these spinsters blame everything from the deficit to spoiled food on the current admin yet offer no logical insight on possible solutions. If they had their way, the history books would say there was no National debt until the second Obama took office, and then, it just plummeted out of control.
