Has Irene turned dud/ Can people return to their holmes?

I thought that Elenin would supercharge Irene and give her a big boost.

Seems like Elenin has left the building, for now.-------------------

I stopped reading Sherlock Holmes since the Hurricane hit, but since it isn't so bad it would be nice to get back to it...

Irene is a weak storm, indeed but it's the timing of it's hit that is concern .. the storm carries with it a lot of water and it's hitting at high tide which means the potential for flooding is very high.. the flooding could be rather devastating, far more dangerous than the winds from the storm itself... I would seriously not recommend going home until it passes.. it's just not worth screwing around with.

Also the fact that it's such a slow moving hurricane means it gets to continue to dump water on areas in it's path for an extended time.. making it worse

D: Tropical Depression – wind speed less than 39 MPH
S: Tropical Storm – wind speed between 39 MPH and 73 MPH
H: Hurricane – wind speed between 74 MPH and 110 MPH
M: Major Hurricane – wind speed greater than 110 MPH

Currently the wind speeds of Irene are at 100 mph, so it's still considered a hurricane.
