Yes yes of course Ed and Pearl Jam - good post, fab song, deliriously good soundtrack.
I believe Ed knows about the combinations of notes that reek of ascension. There are pieces on that soundtrack that accomplish that feat.

They get it.

I like that a lot. It's amazing how music is that universal. I have no idea what he's saying but it makes sense through the notes. Reminds me of this:

DieBravely et al:

This music not only stops me dead; it does this to others in close proximity--from my belting out my voice & their dismay to my traipsing around in my absorption--so much so that I have to go outside, in my car, or to the shower.

These influenced me in my youth, and are on my mind after this past weekend's visit with a childhood friend:

Oh, did I mention that they also distract/sidetrack me as well?

I think this fits your description:

Hauntingly beautifull, changed my life and stops me in my tracks, always has and always will.

This song doesn't just stop you in your tracks, it rips up the tracks and brushes it's teeth with it.

Whenever this song comes on in my playlist, I have difficulty concentrating
on what I was doing. Love it.
