I want nothing more than the failure of Monsanto. They are the most vile and despicable of the vile and despicable. There just isn't enough Makers Mark to calm me down about it.

This. I really truly despise that company and what it has done to promote GMOs and antibiotics on animals (and everything else truly despicable actions, as well). It is a good day for natural farmers to prove their point that if you act according to nature's laws you will be rewarded with better soil, better nutrition and a better crop. Possibly even start a movement to end Monsanto propaganda about how GMOs are needed.

OR, Monsanto will just develop a more unnatural and disgusting excuse for a vegetable that is twice as resistant and twice as unhealthy..

Hack nature, it'll hack you back.

Monsanto, Fukushima, Gulf of Mexico... it's long list.

this is not a good thing...!!

This is a terrible thing for two simple reasons..

1. Umbrella...errr I mean "Monsanto", will just make something even worse to combat the problem.

2. These beetles will now be even more dangerous to non-GM crops as well...!!

...I have met too many farmers that view GM-foods to be God's answer to their prayers, but if you discuss the possibilities that Nature will adapt to whatever you throw at Her, they just look at you with blank eyes. They would rather trust a company with lots of money behind them, than a couple of university-professors,...

If you have not read these articles yet, I suggest you read History, HACCP and the Food Safety Con Job and SHIELDING THE GIANT: USDA's “Don't Look, Don't Know” Policy

Those two articles show the problem is a well thought out plan started just after WWII and is a coordinated effort of UNIVERSITY PROFESSORS, GOVERNMENT, as well as bankers and corporate CEOs.

This article shows Bayer and the others "filled their highest position, chairman of the board, with former members of the Nazi regime" And through out it all you find the Rockefeller family who are all for eugenics and genocide.

The Rockefeller Foundation

....The Nuremberg Tribunal dissolved IG Farben into Bayer, Hoechst and BASF... Auschwitz was the largest mass extermination factory in human history. However, few people are aware that Auschwitz was a 100% subsidiary of IG Farben.

In the early half of the 20th century, petrochemical giants organized a coup on the medical research facilities, hospitals and universities. The Rockefeller family sponsored research and donated sums to universities and medical schools which had drug based research. They further extended this policy to foreign universities and medical schools where research was drug based through their "International Education Board". Establishments and research which were were not drug based were refused funding and soon dissolved in favor of the lucrative pharmaceutical industry. In 1939 a "Drug Trust" alliance was formed by the Rockefeller empire and the German chemical company IG Farben (Bayer).... The Rockefeller empire, in tandem with Chase Manhattan Bank (now JP Morgan Chase), owns over half of the pharmaceutical interests in the United States. It is the largest drug manufacturing combine in the world. Since WWII, the pharmaceutical industry has steadily netted increasing profits to become the world's second largest manufacturing industry; [3], [4] after the arms industry....

History of agribusiness interests
The myth that American Farm Bureau (AFBF) represents the interests of farmers is longstanding, though long debunked.....

The AFBF is controlled from the top and its leadership is self-perpetuating, which is how it was designed. It was founded in the early 1900s by the New York Chamber of Commerce and funded by the Rockefellers and the Vanderbilts via the Chicago Board of Trade. [7], The Farm Bureau was designed to counter the nonpartisan, populist farm movement that was emerging at the time.....

The "Green Revolution"

A new look at international intervention.....

India had been the bastion of the “free (enterprise) world.” However, western businessmen had long worried over its "neutralism”, “socialism” and economic restrictions on foreigners. That ended in 1958, when India experienced a foreign exchange crisis. The World Bank intervened.... [note the IMF and the World Bank hold a private meeting on David Rockefeller's Westercher estate each year cv]

International investors like RF and the Ford Foundation, immediately seized the opportunity. The Ford Foundation stepped in with a “food crisis” team, pushing agricultural spending at the expense of housing and social services.

Undersecretary of Commerce Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Jr., led a delegation of executives to New Delhi for the purpose of "persuading the government to adopt policies more attractive to potential investors".

Rockefeller’s Jersey Standard wanted price and distribution restrictions lifted on their Bombay fertilizer plant. Petroleum producers lobbied to set up fertilizer plants to utilize naphtha, an otherwise useless petroleum by-product. The Ford and Rockefeller foundations also wanted to expand the use of their new high yield seeds, deliberately bred for large fertilizer and pesticide inputs.[9]...

Interesting news but the way I see it, this just gives Monsanto one more reason to develop another selection of deadly toxins.

Until people stop using GMO products, which for Americans and most of the world today is nearly impossible, Mosanto will keep pumping out its poison under the guise of ever increasing profit.

Though I must say that I was surprised to learn how quickly the beetles were able to adapt.

I disagree with you for this reason :

This is coming straight from The Mother Nature herself, she is wise and she is in charge.

Have any of you considered the fact that its not just nature who is fighting back maybe our we are to. Notice the out break of immune disease and also vitamin deficiantcys we are all changing at diffrent rates because of these crops and simaler products that have flooded the market, we are being weakend check out for yourselfs look at people you know then resarch there illness and bingo straight to the immune system. Out break of riketts and other disease caused by lack of natural vitamins depression, cancer the list is endless, we are the mice in the lab and God knows why they would do this sick just sick.

50 years from now, people will see wild corn, alfalfa and soybeean plants and say:
"ya know, at one time you could eat those plants, now they are deadly poison..."

i believe those bastards at Monsanto will ultimately corrupt entire species of flora before
they get shut down for good.

Insects come from another World i reckon... they have been here millions of years and have adapted over all those years from whatever has come their way.... i can imagine Aliens being similar to insects in such that if they land here they will be able to mimick the Insect!!

It's not evolution. The immunity was already in the population. Everyone else just died.

That's natural selection. The oncoming stages of evolution take thousands of years.

evolution at its best, a quick little adjustment here, and voila a beetle that's immune to bullcrap invented by humans to kill bugs in crops, mother nature you are the greatest creator of all

Guess you reap what you soe, pay back for what they have done to the small farmers of this nation

So I wonder if now the farmers have a case to sue Monsanto back for their "product" being "defective".

After all the legal shows they dragged the farmers through, I'd think they should if it weren't for the army of corporate lawyers.

Someone needs to get a bunch of em and breed them.

Set them loose in the GMO crops everywhere.

this will be worse for organic farms, since bt toxin is a natural chemical they could use it as pesticide and it would still be organic, so if they are now immune it does no good for organic farmers, they would have to either use a synthetic chemical or find a more powerful organic one

What a shame, BT spores were a very good and relatively safe pesticide against grubs caterpillers and squash borers. See what happens, Abuse it and Loose it. F@@@ U MONSANTO!

From prwatch.org 'Whole Foods Market Caves to Monsanto' Jan. 28, 2011

"Under current laws, Genetically-Modified Organisms (GMOs) are not subject to any premarket safety testing or labelling."

"Most consumers don't know the difference between 'natural' and 'certified organic' products."

" 'Natural' products can come from crops and animals fed nutrients containing GMOs.' "

" 'Certified Organic' products are GMO-free."

"Scientists are at a loss to explain just how the beetle developed the resistance so quickly. While there are rumors of an elite group of geneticists and biologists working to protect the Earth by devising organisms resistant to all of Monsanto's products, there has been little evidence to date of that group. But, have they finally left their mark, in a way similar to the hacker group Anonymous?"
