PHILADELPHIA - August 25, 2011 (WPVI) -- Pennsylvania State Police have issued an Amber Alert after a 2-day-old baby was taken from the University of Pennsylvania Hospital.
The newborn black male was taken at approximately noon Thursday. Officials say the child is in need of medical attention.

Police say they know who took the baby boy. 39-year-old Tonya Dixon left with the child in a silver Dodge 4-door sedan operated by another unidentified individual. Dixon was last seen wearing cream colored pants, a yellow shirt, a black jacket, and a long black wig.

It takes someone not thinking right
to take a 2 day old baby from the hospital.
I hope the baby is found and in good
condition. Thanks for letting us know.

Who in their right mind would do this?
It's just crazy, if they want a child I'll give them one of mine.
Just kidding but really I can't fathom anybody actually wanting a child that much, much less one they didn't give birth to.

I weep for humanity and the lack of mental emotional stability from the majority of our society.

Praying for a safe conclusion to this situation.

In California every few days there's electronic signs on the highways that say "CHILD ABDUCTION" etc etc.

Nothing makes my blood boil more than seeing that sign on the drive home, terrible.

Update:

Amber Alert is cancelled, the child was found.

Police say the child was already in the custody of the Department of Human Services, which has custody of the woman's seven other children.

There was no word on if Dixon was found as well.
