Then why does the USA set aside a budget of $698 billion dollars for its military, yet its scientific research budget is only $7 billion dollars which includes all research projects and not just research in renewable/alternative energy.

I think that factor alone shows that the governments of this world don't take global warming seriously, so why should we as it is us that has to sacrifice and pay higher taxes to chase this green dream.

Probably because they think that they'll be dead when global warming starts to get really serious, so they pour money into things that will benefit them in the short term

The fact that the U.S. spends so much money on their military and so little on renewable energy tells you they are looking out for the best interests of the military-industrial-complex, the fossil fuel lobby, and all the related industries that have their hands deep in the pockets of U.S. politics.

These are the industries that run the world today by keeping it completely dependent on finite, non-renewable resources like oil that they control. Meanwhile these are the same industries that have been working so hard to convince everyone that climate change isn't real, and that it isn't caused by us. See:

The Denial Machine

So put two and two together and realize this is exactly why you should make the effort to support the "green dream", as you call it.

You DON'T pay carbon taxes if you don't use carbon. A carbon tax simply makes the price of renewable energy competetive with fossil fuels. This means many more people will naturally start switching to renewables, which will drive the price down even further, since the biggest "cost" holding it back at the moment is a lack of infrastructure and mass-production.

In the long run "the green dream" is also actually much cheaper and healthier anyway, so "making the sacrifice" to support renewable energy is really like making the sacrifice to stop smoking, eat right, exercise more, get a good education, etc.

All these things are well worth it - and of course TPTB don't support them, because they would much rather keep everyone addicted, fat, lazy and stupid instead - even if it sends the whole planet straight to hell in the meantime.

Because it is NOT a threat.
The RIGHT fearmonger war
the LEFT fearmonger global warming..

STOP trying to scare us into submission..

WE are not scared...

because that would increase the overhead thus eliminating all the profit.
