I came across the following website and think it presents a strong argument for the existence of a God in a world where Evil and Suffering do exist. Please read with an open mind and come to your own conclusions.

1) There is Too Much Evil and Suffering For God To Exist (Moral Evil)

2) Where is God When Bad Things Happen? Why Natural Evil Must Exist (Natural Evil)

The topic is meant to be about whether there is a logical basis for the existence of a Creator in a world where Evil and Suffering occur - not Organised Religion.

Edit: I can see why this might be seen as being in the wrong forum. Let's wait for the mods to decide.

Nice links, personally i feel the only people that make these arguments are atheists trying to win over the ignorant, when the informed are aware of the idea of free choice given to man by god and hence the fact that evil exists for its own purpose even to the detriment of those performing it, is arguably evidence for the existence of god.

Thank God for the frontal cortex of man... it invented God. Now can we get on with perfecting the frontal cortex of man to the standards of God... for if God is Love, then evil is the absence of Love. Pain is in the present moment, suffering is remembering that pain and projecting it into our future... we can thank the frontal cortex for that displeasure and pray that others, who inflict pain, may know Love also, so as to not be in pain or have an addiction to pain and suffer, but rather let them be an addict to Love. All suffering is a corruption, so suffering is evil within the frontal cortex... the absence of Love.

Ps ... pain killers were responsible for comments made.

The Christian God is supposed to be both loving and all-powerful. Despite these characteristics, God seems to be unable or unwilling to prevent the vast amount of evil and suffering in the world.

Perhaps...

Perhaps it is that the Christian teaching that there is another world-- a more real spiritual place to which we may enter ("My Kingship is not of this World" and concepts of the Mystical New Jerusalem, coming down, prepared as a Bride, etc.) point to the spiritual life which many, across time and culture have glimpsed.

If we were satisfied with the temporal-spacial reality, would we do the work required to perceive the other?

The inverse is true, without work, we perceive some music, and some art as beautiful; we pursue the perfect, truth, justice and such-- all beyond our experience-- yet we know it to strive for it or appreciate it. Likewise mathematics is not an experience-based concept, yet the rational mind of man had conceived it and and the countless truths which have come from its use. Language, written words, names, symbols, and so many aspects of the life of humanity which existed in ancient times even when people were in isolation-- these all point to the same metaphysical Reality-- that which is beyond our sense to perceive.

In this world and in this life, the mere one, evil discomforts and therefore drives the human soul to seek that which is not readily apparent.
