In NWGA, we didn't feel a thing here.
Heard they are evacuating the pentagon. Have a SIL that is real close to the epicenter. She said it shook her whole house and was very scary, but they are ok.

60 miles west of D.C. in Maryland. I thought the whole house was coming down for a few seconds. Let us hope that the bigger wave possibility does not occur or we could have a whole lotta' shakin' going on.

Never been in a major quake before but knew enough to get into a doorway until it passed. I hope everyone is alright.

I felt it and I'm in South Burlington, VT.

A lot of folks in this area felt it, which means it was one hell of a quake!

Southern Ohio?

Haven't felt anything up by Cleveland, though I did awake suddenly from a afternoon nap.

Felt it in Central Ohio. Lasted for about 25 seconds.

news.yahoo.com...

Felt it all the way in NYC. Pa, NJ, NY all felt the aftershock. Why would we feel it if it was just a 5.8 a couple of states away? New Madrid fault line?

Felt it in Toronto, Ontario. Very gentle shaking. A few confused looks on co-workers faces. There seems to be no sign damage other than a few displaced potato chips still in the bag. A quick glance behind me shows no signs of tsunamis on Lake Ontario. Phew...

I felt it in Baltimore, it shook a cupboard right off the wall. My mother felt it 120 miles away on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

It was 5.8 quake on the east coast, felt from North Carolina to New York.

Anybody know where it actually happened yet?.

Slight tremble here in Toronto Canada, I'm in a very solid building so I didn't feel anything, but I was on conference call and people on the call mentioned it.

Our office building shook pretty good here in CT. Never been in a quake but knew EXACTLY what it was. And considering the structural design of the building I work in I was QUITE nervous.
