So you can't be responsible for yourself? You HAVE to rely on government for food, housing, employment? You can't plan your own retirement? You can't take care of your medical bills yourself?

Fine. Sleep tight. Janet Napolitano and Obama will tuck you in and take care of you. The rest of us? We're going to be grown-ups.

I know what I can do for myself. I do a good job of taking care of myself without the need for government intervention.

However, the TEA Party motto of "the solution to 1984 is 1776" has me concerned because I really don't think that slavery should be legal, I don't think that women should be counted as 3/5ths of a person, and I don't think that the vote should be a right only white landowning males should have.

See, when I talk to TEA Party people or Conservatives, it appears that these people want to go back to 1776 and how the country was run back then. But, if we did that, then we would be overrun by governments that don't particularly like us.

Sometimes I just want people to think of the world they want to live in.

Apparently under the cruel dictatorship of Obama aren't we all living in a Socialist Orwillian Nightmare? Certainly we can't live in both a fascist nightmare AND a socialist nightmare under one president can we?

I think that according to the conservatives over at FOX News they have decided early on that under Obama we live in a Socialist nightmare and not a Fascist nightmare.

Unfortunately, they're wrong. At least under a Socialist state it would be under the guise of "help". Under Obama it's under the jackboot of "obey".

I believe the 1984 reference is to fighting a fascist government, and the 1776 reference is to fighting a tyrannical government for freedom and liberty, both of which we are under now.

And I suspect you know that it has zero to do with the popular definition of slavery as practiced prior to 1863, but everything to do with the type of slavery under the aforementioned fascist, tyrannical government.

Actually the TEA party does in fact have a party line and agenda, and that is to bring the United States into a Fascist Oligarchy. It's an old plan that was first brought forth by Prescott Bush, George HW Bush's father.

See, corporations are in league with fascist elements within the United States and they are using the TEA Party to further their own political goals.

It's no wonder people fall for it. They believe their taxes are too high, and they are told that if you tax the richest 1% of Americans then they will take their jobs elsewhere.

The truth is quite the opposite and it's been proven by history that when you tax the wealthy they tend to create more jobs because they have to conduct more business in order to make the same amount of money they do when their taxes are lowered.

*** PAID POLITICAL OPERATIVE ON ATS ALERT ***

This one doesn't even try to disguise their mission, using "obama2ndterm" for their avatar name when signed up last week.

And that last paragraph was the biggest piece of economic BS I have ever seen on ATS - or anywhere else. I'd ask you to provide proof of that statement from reputable sources, but hopefully you won't be here to do that - if you even could find a reputable source saying that.

Ah yes... another finger-pointing political polarization thread. Because you folks are sure that Party A is SO much better than Party B... and that if only YOUR party of choice could get in control everything would be skittles and subnshine likitty-split.

Maybe they didn't teach this in your school, but the Tea Party Movement is not a political party.

The word "party" refers to a gathering of patriots a while back who were fed up with government trying to run their lives, taking from them a disproportionate amount of their revenue to fund others who contributed nothing to the American coolonies.

I doubt anyone will consider your opinions until they reflect common knowledge and common sense.

]quote]Get real... the problem is with the entire corrupt system and YOU PEOPLE that are still clueless enough to play along. Their all bought and paid for.]/quote]

Unless you are ready to start shooting or bleeding, the only way to change "the system" is from within. The Tea Party Movement is calling out the double-dealers, and looking for a few who are willing to sacrifice in the name of conservative government and public service that is in the public interest. The loudest voices in opposition are those afraid or unwilling to let go of the government tit,

]quote] And until the likes of you all get the big lightbulb over your heads to blink-on wer're going to continue in this mess until we all go down the hole.

There are many Americans of voting age for whom the lightbulb will never go on; they recite the progressive, big-government matra they've been fed all their lives.

If you are not willing to join a cause that supports personal freedom, smaller government and fiscal responsibility, just what do you want? What is your solution? "Throw them out?" Then what? Who do you want to step into the void, more of the same, or arevolutionary ideology?

My guess is you haven't a clue, because the same source of your confusion about political parties clouds the rest of your thinking.

deny ignorance

This may be true in Bizarro world.

In the US, the largest corporations are beholden to or controlled by the Obama administration:
AIG - check
GE - check
GM - check
B of A -check
CITI - check
Goldman-Sachs - check
Wachovia - check
AFSCME - check
UAW - check
SEIU - check
FNMA - check
FHLMC - check.

We are already living in a fascist environment, established by a socialiust president to entrench dependence and ensure his re-election by buying the loyalty of the craven dependents.

Fascism, and Socialism are two completely different political structures. You cannot be both. If you are Fascist, then you work towards the ends of the corporate interest (actually the state controls the corporate interests) in a socialist state the people own the corporate interests.

see the difference?
