OK. well, if you'd like to place a friendly wager, I'm up for it.
If Ron Paul gets the nomination I will publicly state you were right. If he doesn't, and if the tactics I've described are used effectively against him, will you agree to state you were wrong?
The fact's are clear:
- You can't be anti-social security and win the Presidency.
- There's no huge ground-surge of support for Paul in mainstream America.
- His own past will be used against him and his personality makes him unable to win political battles.

As you say, they are "tactics".
The twisting of truths and telling half the story is NOT FACTS...

- You can't be anti-social security and win the Presidency.

He does NOT agree with the current system of taxation and SS payments.
He has never said he wishes to abandon those in need.

- There's no huge ground-surge of support for Paul in mainstream America.

It's MSM that is not allowing Ron Paul to be heard.
Do you not agree that if he was given the same respect and time on MSM as say Obama was, then his support would grow?

- His own past will be used against him and his personality makes him unable to win political battles.

Mate, that's your silliest argument, Obama bringing up Ron Paul's past..
Ron Paul would just ask Obama "How's that CHANGE going mate? and "How many troops are now home?""..

Bring me some FACTS instead of this crap..
We've heard it all before..

I'd rather write in his name on the ballot then to vote for another figurehead. It doesn't matter to me if people feel voting for Ron Paul is throwing away a vote because deep down I'll know I voted for the right person for the position.

Wasting a vote is voting for who they want you to vote for. Voting your convictions cannot be considered a waste, or you do not truly hold your convictions dear. I doubt Ron will make it to the RNP nomination, but that would only be an endorsement of thieves and worse. He has my vote no matter what.

Those who stand for nothing will fall for anything!

Here's the thing, he did the exact same thing last time, raise a lot of money, from small donations, and he got absolutely no where. If he ever polls at 15% I'd be surprised... The GOP is currently trying to figure out how to sell a Mormon, or make Rick Perry look less cacacuckoo... Ron Paul is doing exactly what he did last time and he will end up in the same place... running til the very end, not making much headway, and not being the nominee.

Look, I'd like an actual outsider to win (I own a Dennis Kucinich t-shirt... ha!) but rationally, Paul won't. And it won't be because anything is rigged (though if Mitt the # could rig it he would) it's because he will NEVER be able to sell a candidacy weighed down with the issues I outlined.

The thing is, everyone KNOWS this stuff about Obama, so the 24news-cycle won't flinch when someone asks Obama about "Change". Obama talks about it himself (I'm not an Obama supporter FTR). However, if Obama points out Paul's racist newsletters, and Paul flips out, which is what he ALWAYS DOES when people ask him, he'll look like he's dodging the issue, or intellectualising the issue, and the 24hour news folks will run the clip into the ground.

This is a game of perception. Ron Paul sucks at playing that game and actually gives his opponents free openings to attack him.

Re: you're abandoning those in need thing - it doesn't matter... people like the idea of change but are also scared of real change and scared of losing their meds and checks... there's not a way to say what he wants to say that won't scare huge chunks of voters.

I'm not surprised to see so many Ron Paul fans trying to make rational arguments about his "real beliefs," but understand, I KNOW what he believes, I don' THINK he wants to hurt poor people, etc. That's not my point. My point is that he can't explain his beliefs in a way that will convince people to trust him with their medicine and SS money.

You must not know that Ron Paul holds the record now for most money made in a campaign in one day... All from these small donations. Did you know that the American military has givin more money to him than any other candidate.

No probably not because you obviously don't do research. You are conforming to a very fascist way of thinking which is completely opposite of what we do here on ATS. Which is to...............wait for it............

DENY IGNORANCE AND QUESTION AUTHORITY BUT COMING TO OUR OWN CONCLUSIONS.

none of your post tell me that you have come to your own conclusion but rather copy and post the brain washed fascist and socialist views of 90% of Congress.

So you are saying we should not vote our convictions? That we should follow the lead of those who have proved not to work for us time and time again, and vote another thief into office? Or that we should all, you included, go out and buy one handgun and one bullet apiece?

I do not understand the defeatism and give up attitude. Is not the American ideal to stand up for what is right no matter the cost? Or do you have another solution based on principles that I have not thought of.

I can see you as the Nazi's go goosestepping by, thinking you better go along because you are helpless to do the right thing.

In this case, it is not really about getting Ron Paul in office. It is about sending a message that we have had enough. However, if you haven't had enough why don't you tell the cashier at the grocery store to start charging you double normal prices, and pay double at the gas pump because if we just resign ourselves to not being able to anything about it that is what we will end up doing anyway.

Jesus Tap-dancing Christ, haven't you ever heard of doing the right thing simply because it is the right thing? It is that simple, why can't you nay-sayers understand something as simple as honor?

He set records last time he ran also but that doesn't equate into votes during the primary's as past history shows. He's getting trounced in national polls by people not even in the Presidential race and people think that his message is going to "catch on" all of a sudden in a matter of a couple months?

It's fine to support Ron Paul but anyone seriously thinking he has a chance is delusional.

I'm NOT telling ANYONE to DO ANYTHING.

I'm simply stating he won't get the nomination and has no chance of being President, for some pretty obvious reasons that his supporters seem to be in denial about.

Vote your heart, vote your wallet, throw darts at a dart board; none of my business who you vote for or why really... but... if you think Paul has a real shot, well, you're gonna be really disappointed.

And yet you used the word "FACTS" multiple times

Please make up your mind..
Do you believe the propaganda you posted in the OP or is it just Ron Paul being misunderstood as you now say??

We don't care if he makes it, it is time to send a message to Washington. We are not worried. Why is it so important for you guys to worry about us? I for one am not going to let you claim me as a dependent on your income tax, so you might as well find something interesting to do. Don't you have something else to do in life than to worry about us? If not we sure wish you would find something, cause you guys only seem to have one song to sing.

If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem. Stop being part of the problem. Dancing With The Stars is coming on, don't you wanna go watch it?

Kro, I think you and I are going to butt heads until this election is over or you see how different this campaign is from the 2007 season.

His numbers are MUCH higher than they were then. He was being MUCH more ignored then. He was pretty much allowing the MSM to run him over. His supporters were passionate but unprepared for the media blackout. His campaign managers weren't as prepared. Everything about 2008 was awesome but it wasn't successful because no one knew what to expect.

Ron Paul is getting MUCH more airtime now. He isn't being kept from the debates. He is winning major straw polls that he got smoked in back then.

Look, if you want to see America restored and have a President to stand behind, join us in the fight for Liberty. Saying he can't, won't, etc. will never do any good for this nation. Backing someone because the media says they're more electable won't cut it. We have to stand up for principal. If everyone would vote on the issues instead of what is "popular", we may not be in this mess.

You're an intelligent person. Stand with us and let's show the world America is sick of having our rights trampled on by our sellout government!
