As the nation watches its vacationing president during troubles at home and abroad in Libya, President Barack Obama reportedly began his third day at Martha’s Vineyard with a brief briefing on the troubled country of Libya.
Following the business part of his morning, it was back to the vacation the president had planned. Obama spent morning-time at the beach with FLOTUS Michelle Obama and his two daughters, Malia and Sasha. Then, he golfed with Chicago friend Eric Whitaker, Robert Wolf w

President Barack Obama and his family enjoy the good - make that elite - life on Martha's Vineyard as Rome - make that the economy, jobs, and Libya - burn.

Every time a US president dares to take a holiday it seems someone, somewhere whines about it.
Apparently there's always something that only he (so far) can fix - although the people who whine always seem to be the ones to think the president of the time isn't actually any good and can't actually fix anything anyway.......
Shouldn't this be in US politicial silliness rather than breaking alternative news??

Your confused about this? Let me break it down for ya. He is an employee ok? He has a job to do, and taking vacations whenever he wants ain't getting the job done. This goes for all the president's. Can you take a vacation whenever you want? Would you still be employed if you did? What if you took a vacation in the middle of a project? Or in the middle of a project? Or in the middle of a busy season? Oh, and make it on the companies dime too. Make sense now?

Besides it's not like he has a ranch like Bush or Reagan, who by the way, spent 25 days at his ranch once.

The uproar over this is absolutely ridiculous. He isn't the first or last president to vacation
He isn't getting a damn thing done while on the job so what's the difference?

did anybody do a day by day account of bush's 6 week vacation ?
these guys need time off. every morning starts with a briefing of who is trying to kill them or start WWIII
every president, regardless of party, needs time away
Mr. Bush did spend time on “vacation.” But Obama and Michelle closing down Bar Harbor, Maine to dine in upscale restaurants with a “Latin flair” is quite different from G.W. fishing on his family’s estate in Kennebunkport prior to hosting a “Lobster Summit” for Vladimir Putin.
According to CBS reporter Mark Knoller, a vacationing President Bush would go into town for an annual cheeseburger. On the other hand, every chance he gets, Barack relaxes seaside, sipping sunset cocktails and eating lobster while the Secret Service keep peons at bay.
Maybe scorekeepers could refresh America’s memory and cite the instance when Mr. and Mrs. Bush nearly brought the Big Apple to a halt while they leisurely took in dinner and a show.
Intermittently, George W. did head home to conduct business from the “Western White House” in Crawford, Texas. For fun, Mr. Bush would be seen with a “power saw in his hand going after brush and dead trees.”
President Obama has got to know that no one would condemn a decision to head home to his Tony Rezko-acquired property on South Greenwood Avenue in Chicago, instead of his $4,000 a night “Winter White House” in Hawaii.
