I had a dream a couple of nights ago that I was actually able to remember a lot of detail about, so I thought I'd share it with you all.
I was walking through some caves and I turned a corner and ended up in a shop, as you do when walking through caves! As I looked out the shop window
I could see that it was in my town, Stamford. I was looking across at The Model Fish & Chip shop, except aside from the fact it's at the end of a
wide street and has no shops directly facing it, it was also a little different. The normal white paint work was now green and the name had changed
to the surname of someone I know (I can't remember who though). I did notice that one of the girls who works there was still behind the counter. I
saw some Police Officers walk past the shop window, but they also looked different. They were wearing yellow high vis jackets, but that had a utility
belt type thing going over the shoulder. For some reason in my dream I knew this meant I had to be in the future, so I decided to step outside and
As I walked up the street I could see the nightclub I work at, it also looked different. For a start it had these really tacky Christmas decorations
on the side, but it wasn't Christmas so it was as though they had just been left up. The building looked as though it had aged.
I decided I needed to take some photos so that I could show people when I got back, but my camera was playing up. Every time I took a photo the
camera would move in my hand so that it only got a small piece of what I was trying to take. It was also market day so the street was full of stalls
and people, all of which seemed dressed in old style clothes, but this was clearly the future so I guess fashion is going backwards!
I approached the front door to the club, but no one would let me in, they thought I was a stranger messing about. So I walked around the side of the
club where I met the owners son, Nick.
Nick was very surprised to see me, in fact he was shocked, he couldn't take in that I was me. Was it that I hadn't aged? Nick seemed the same as
he always had, so surely I couldn't be that far in the future?
Nick explained the reason for his shock. I had actually been dead for the past 5 years! Now most people would be a little put off by this and need
to focus on that for a while, but not me. I moved on to asking if my friend Alex still worked at the club. Nick said that Alex had been horribly
disfigured in a fire at the club some years earlier.
I moved the conversation backwards and asked Nick how I had died. As tends to be the case with dreams I woke up before he could tell me.
Although no year was determined in the dream, I felt that while I had been dead for 5 years, the dream was only a little more than that in the
To help illustrate my dream I've added a couple of pictures. The first shows the chip shop as it is, the second as close as I could get to how it
was in my dream. I couldn't find the right images to create the market crowds and the nightclub though.
