Hollywood is really starting to irritate me. No originality left in that town.

They should have picked up where the other left off. A "Return of the Thing". But even that is a old and tired storyline.

Yup, I liked both, John Carpenters and the first. Just for the (blank) of it here my list of movies that should NEVER be remade: Jaws, Close encounters of the Third kind and The Final Countdown. I was going to add The Thing, but the preview looks pretty good.

I believe this is actually a prequel, not a remake of the original. I think it's all about the Norwegian crew from the beginning of the movie that was chasing the dog...but I could be wrong.

I would like to see some one remake a movie that was awful originally, but had possibilities that the special effects just could not do at the time.

Barberella..perhaps?

how about the prequal to The hills have eyes
that could justify the original?

Maybe remake Westworld?....but make it a predessor to the Terminator franchise.

A offshoot from the Terminator "Rise of the Machines"

There are similarities in the story lines.

hi Tdawg
West world was brill youl brynner was the perfect character
i seen that they done a future world
but ive not seen that though the review sounds ok
my fave film of all time is FIRST BLOOD
i was 6 yrs old and my dad sneaked me into the cinema to watch it

I really liked first blood, but who would play Stallone? I can't think of anyone who looks like a younger him.

But maybe a sequel to Independance day? Something along the lines of mopping up the alien survivors? Remember, they could get into your head? Turn our own troops against us maybe?

That and there must have been ground soldiers and weapons on the ships that hovered over the cities. Not just on the Mothership.

That would be a hard one to write.

hi tdawg
maybe an upcoming newbee actor
could play rambo
as for indipendance day sequel sounds good
but then the united world could be the outcome of that
seems like everything is orientated to the nwo
good or bad?
i have not a clue but things are heading that way imo

Funnily enough, they've been working on an Independence Day sequel for a decade now, the main script writers from the first movie just don't know how to make it work just yet.

That trailer looks pretty cool.

I'm still highly annoyed that Darren Aronofsky claimed while announcing his Robocop remake (that was supposed to be out in 2010 but hopefully never happens) that the original was something that not many people saw so he could do what he liked with it.

Exsqueeze me? Not many people saw it? The damn thing's a classic. No one can be Robocop other than Peter Weller and regardless what anyone says, Clarence Boddicker is the greatest movie villain of all time.

I seen something about this on wiki so I was not sure if it was accurate or not, but who knows, it might be ok I guess, if the acting and camera work is good.
