Surveillance drone crashes in middle of Somali capital, African Union soldiers retrieve pieces

www.washingtonpost.com

It was not immediately known who was operating the downed drone, but the U.S. is known to fly surveillance craft over Somalia, where Islamist rebels are battling the weak U.N.-backed government. The rebels pulled out of their bases in the capital last week but are still believed to have fighters in the city in disguise.

Several things come to mind.

At least no US. Personel were killed of injured.

Why are these Drones going down?

I hope we are not even thinking about intervening in Somali.

I am sure the Soldiers thought they could sell the pieces to the Chinese.

How many of these drones operate worldwide?

Isn't the US the only country operating surveillance drones?

If they are going down overseas, how long till one crashes into a house in America.

I don't know very much about these drones.

Maybe one of my fellow ATS members could answer these questions?

Im not sure what other countries use these but I wouldn't be surprised if China Russia or Iran have something similar.

I dont think they have anything as sophisticated as this system though.

Great Video...

What an incredible system.

Also, I wondered how many of these things exist?

This is the future...

Maybe windows crashed or had a blue screen of death. This comes to mind after watching the video.
