You know I tried to display this message in another thread and got negative feedback.

Just got a bunch of "They attacked em while they were weak, perfect strategy for hammas."

Sigh.

The Israeli government will never give up any of that land.

And I do believe they would false flag this entire event to hold back a new statehood.

Kind of hard to negotiate when you have a loaded gun pointed at your head dont ya think?

Even after Israeli went down the land for peace road, Hamas came out, again, and stated they would never be at eace with Israel until they are completey wiped out.

So let me ask this... Hamas is the government in control of Gaza. There are no Israeli forces in Gaza. The West Bank is run by Fatah.

Why is Hamas attacking Israel then? They got what they wanted didnt they

If the positions were reversed, would you try to make peace with a group that absolutely refuses to recognize your right to exist?

People argue that Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinains. Couldnt the exact same argument be made for Hamas then?

Tit for Tat....

The issues in the West bank are between Israel and Fatah, not Hamas (as of now since their is still no unity government).

Why should Israel even consider land for peace with Hamas when Hamas themselves refuse peace?

How come Fatah is not launching rockets randomly into Israeli territory?

I also hinted this in other thread and got negative feed back.

It's part of the reason I made this thread. It at least should be able to be discussed.

DRUGS ….. the most overlooked issue in the Middle East !

The “Mafias” are the ones who reap the most benefits from violence (aside from the worldwide corporations who supply the “supplies”).

Perhaps the lucrative drug trade is fueling the “politics”…..

Israeli Drug Smugglers' Global Monopoly On Ecstasy (from 2002)

Ecstasy, along with marijuana, hashish, heroin, and coc aine, is heavily used and traded in Israel today, in what some call a sign of the times. Contemporary Israel is an affluent, drug-consuming country-with an estimated 300,000 casual drug users and some 20,000 junkies. There are no reliable statistics on Ecstasy use in Israel, but in 2000 alone, police confiscated 270,000 Ecstasy tablets from smugglers, students, and partygoers in a series of stings. That same year, according to an online report by the Israeli Authority for Combating Drugs, Israeli agents confiscated more than 80 kilograms of heroin, 30 kilograms of hashish, 8,885 kilograms of marijuana, and nearly 8,000 "sheets" (resembling sheets of postage stamps) of '___'. Those numbers may pale beside comparable statistics for the United States where, according to U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) estimates, more than 15 million junkies reside. But they add up to serious drug problems, especially among Israeli youth-and have led to commando-style raids in tree-lined residential neighborhoods of Jerusalem, Haifa, and Tel Aviv. According to a report of the United Nations Office for Drug Control and Crime Prevention, 75 percent of all crime in Israel is drug-related. And, compounding Israel's worries, the drug trade has led to troubling breaches of Israel's borders with Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan……..

According to a U.S. State Department White Paper on Global Narcotics, issued in 1998, the Jewish State is "a drug-consuming country with serious marijuana, hashish and heroin use, and a growing problem of coc aine, '___', and amphetamine consumption." But perhaps more striking, the report found that Israel is "no longer just a user nation, but like Colombia, Thailand and Pakistan, it has also now become a trafficking power." Authorities say Israeli crime groups have for several years had a virtual monopoly on global distribution of Ecstasy (though police say Russians are also major players, and Colombian and Dominican groups, realizing the potential for profits, are gaining ground.)….

"Nobody suspects nice Jewish kids [of] being dope smugglers," says a former NYPD detective in the Manhattan District Attorney's office, "especially Orthodox Jews."

Israeli Mafia

The Israeli mafia is the general term for organized crime groups operating in Israel and also internationally. Allegedly there are 16 crime families operating in Israel, five major groups active on the national-level, and 11 smaller organizations. Many heads and members of the crime groups have either been killed or are in prison…

Organized crime in Israel

The major crime groups are the Abergils, the Abutbuls, the Alperons, the Dumranis, the Shirazis, the Amir Mulner and Zeev Rosenstein syndicates.[1] The illegal activities they are engaged in include:
Operating casinos and other forms of gambling inside and outside Israel
Prostitution and trafficking in women
Money Laundering
Protection and extortion rackets
Loan sharking
Drugs and arms dealing
Fencing stolen goods
Diamond smuggling

According to Israel’s former Police Commissioner David Cohen, Israeli crime organizations had penetrated the formal economic sector and local governments, and “equipped themselves with large quantities of combat means explosives and arms.” In a mob war starting in the early 2000s between the crime families, several crime bosses were killed. It also cost the life of innocent bystanders.

Ex-Soviet organized crime

Ex-Soviet organized crime in Israel began with the mass immigration of Russian Jews to Israel in 1989.[3] The Russian mafia saw Israel as an ideal place to launder money, as Israel's banking system was designed to encourage aliyah, the immigration of Jews, and the accompanying capital. Following the trend of global financial deregulation, Israel had also implemented legislation aimed at easing the movement of capital. Combined with the lack of anti-money laundering legislation, "Russian" organised crime found it an easy place to transfer ill-gotten gains. In 2005, police estimated that Russian organised crime had laundered between $5 and 10 billion in the fifteen years since the end of the Soviet Union. Even non-Jewish criminals such as Sergei Mikhailov, sought to get an Israeli passport, using fake Jewish documentation.

United Nations Office on drugs and Crime

Israel is party to the 1961, 1971 Drug Control Conventions. It has acceded to but not yet ratified the 1988 convention. However, no legislation is currently planned for the implementation of article 12 of the 1988 convention. Israel regularly complies with its reporting requirements under the treaties. In February 1998, the INCB has fielded a mission to the territories under the jurisdiction of the Palestinian Authority and Israel to assess the situation with regard to the implementation of the international drug control treaties. The Government of Israel holds the view that, due to the mixed sovereignty in the Palestinian Autonomous Areas, the treaties are currently not applicable in these areas.

Trafficking in Israel mainly supplies the local market. Lebanon is frequently cited as a prime source in this respect, also for trafficking of coc aine from South America through family-based networks. However, these sources appear to reflect the situation in the early nineties. Recent reports point to an increasing trafficking of heroin in Jordan. Given the small market in Jordan, a significant amount of this heroin may be destined for Israel. Most synthetic drugs are are reported to be trafficked from Europe, mainly the Netherlands….

Drug abuse is spread among all social strata in Israel. The main drugs of abuse are cannabis and heroin, heroin has become more prominent in the recent years. In 1996 reports, Israeli authorities reported a rise in the consumption of coc aine and a sharp increase in the use of '___' and amphetamines. In addition, the authorities are concerabout the widespread abuse of tranquilizers. The drug-related crimes are reported to represent 75% of the total crimes committed in Israel.

Aside from the fact your response with drugs has nothing to do with the thread, I am confused as to why its brought up. I can speculate of course, but would much rather ask you why you thinks its releveant to whats going on in the MIddle East on this threads topic.

Secondly, I would like to extend to you the opprotunity to correct some of your sources. Pulling information that was published in 2002 while using information that was gathered in 1998 does not come anywhere near the current drug issue. The other source is dated to 2007.

Also, Israel is not the only country with drug issues. It permeates the arab countries as well, and as of 2009 The UNO released information that shows Syria and Iraq far ahead of Israel in drug use issues.

If you are going to use the drug issue as an argument, then, respectfully, please include ALL information and not just the info dealing with Israel. Omitting comparative information with Arab countries skews the information horribly, and leads reders to a wrong conlusion that is based on only bits and pieces of the information.

As we all are well aware of, the worldwide drug cartels are armed. Very well armed and staffed.

It might be a theory that Israel does not fully occupy Gaza because of the drug cartel influences. The political and religious "fighting" may be just a cover story for financial manipulation by strong world powers.

As we all know, Israel could easily confront all enemies with military force and not retreat because of weakness.

However, if Israel is under influence by the worldwide drug trade, that may explain the lax and sporadic skirmishes that have riddled the area for decades. "False-Flag" expeditions may actually be drug cartel operations at least in part. possible covers for smuggling operations on a large scale.

It is possible that the armed cartels have control of Hamas, Hezbollah and most smaller Arab/Muslim factions, and very well may be "sidekicking" with agents in Israel.

Drug "exporting" (and use) in the Middle East is big business, perhaps moreso than the "politics" and "religious" issues.

The drug trade is just as active as the natural resource and industrial businesses that are controlled by the international corporations.

The U.S. is going through the same thing, with some public evidence that the CIA is and has been involved for decades.

I think more deaths occur from drug related violence in the U.S. alone than deaths from political conflicts in the Middle East ? We know for sure more drug related deaths have occurred in Mexico than anywhere else, even in the official war zones ! Go back 5 to 10 years and see.

Mossad may be in the same game.

The constant "attacks" and retaliations may just be window dressing for the drug/industrial/banking complexes.

The supply always fits the demand as long as the prices stay high (no pun intended).

Again, it wasn't hammas supposedly.

I'm not saying that Hammas is innocent, never said that once, but the people of Gaza themselves, don't deserve to be bombed because of a few radicals.

I mean I live in a rough neighborhood, and if one of these hoodrats decided to do a drive by on a few police, I'm pretty sure the reaction wouldn't be come back to the complex and shoot a bunch of innocent people up.

And the reason people call it genocide, is because there are fences, sniper towers, and patrols that run through Gaza, not to mention the restrictions of import/export, all done for Israeli safety, not Palestinian.

I'm not saying Hammas isn't holding a loaded gun, and sometimes after reading Joe Sacco's books, I don't blame them for being stubborn.I mean force a nice dog in to a corner and keep poking him in the face, after a while he won't be such a nice dog anymore. The point is not all Palestinians are Hammas, its just the government that runs their silly piece of land.

I mean 9/11 'supposedly' happened because some radicals hated the US governments policies and war path and in turn they used innocent people to get back at the american government.

So if we we're to do the same thing it would be terrorism, no?

Listen I don't want any Israelis to die, I don't want anybody to die, but when you let a stew brew for so long don't be surprised when there is a few nasty bits in it.

When George Bush was running the states, I didn't judge the entire American population for having a really lowsy government, and we shouldn't do the same to others. They are people too. Just as much as the Israelis.

But I know, I'm just not using logic right?

Egypt / Gaza tunnels are a smuggler's dream come true !

Mubarak fall boosts Gaza’s tunnel trade(Aug 6, 2011)

The swarm of tunnel activity on the Gaza border raises clouds of fine dust, a sure sign of the boom in underground trafficking since the fall of Egypt’s Hosni Mubarak.
While the ousted president appeared in court this week on a stretcher, smugglers from the Palestinian territories—under an Israeli blockade since 2006 with Egypt’s tacit co-operation—were enjoying their newfound freedoms.
“Things have changed with the situation in Egypt. It’s chaos out there,” said Mohamed, 27, who runs a tunnel where workers were hoisting bags of cement.
Trade in cement, which is on an Israeli list of banned goods on grounds it could be used for military purposes, has risen by up to five-fold since the political shift in Egypt.......

I wonder why Israel has not completely destroyed this network ?

With all their might and power ?

Gaza Strip smuggling tunnels (wikipedia)

Commerce

An average-sized tunnel costs $90,000 to construct and run; some investors in the tunnels have been defrauded.[7] According to one report,[8] the cost of smuggling a person from Egypt into the Gaza strip is $1,000. A Kalashnikov rifle in the Gaza Strip can cost up to $1,000 compared with 2,000 Egyptian pounds ($320) across the border. A single cartridge used to cost $3 in Gaza compared with $0.08 in Egypt, but since the Hamas coup, and the subsequent capture of the Fatah weapons' storage, the prices have dropped.

The tunnels are used to import a wide range of goods, including the horses that race at the Faisal Equestrian Club.[9] The tunnels were also used to smuggle in construction materials for the Gaza Mall and the Crazy Water Park.[10][11]

Tunnel operators

The tunnels are run as businesses, mainly by the Abu Samhadana and Abu Rish families, both of Bedouin origin. Smuggling provides tens of thousands of US dollars in profits for each delivery. Some sources have also reported financial links to the Arafat family.[12][dead link] Some of the tunnels were allegedly controlled by one of the Palestinian Authority security services under the command of Moussa Arafat, cousin of Yasser Arafat. Until his assassination at the hands of a rival Palestinian faction in 2005, Moussa Arafat was believed to receive a portion of the profits derived from the smuggling tunnels.

The tunnel owners may have cause to create trouble ...... false flags would be warrented.

Bribery would be widespread ?

Drug addiction in Gaza and the illicit trafficking of tramadol

Following the December 2008 Israeli offensive, a United Nations survey of Gaza residents found increases in risk taking behaviour, including a significant rise in cases of drug addiction. One drug associated with this trend is Tramadol, first developed in Germany during the 1970s and introduced in the 1990s as a centrally acting analgesic with properties similar to codeine and morphine and which is widely prescribed as a pain killer....

Tramadol is relatively easy to obtain in Gaza, either with fake prescriptions from pharmacies or on the black market. News reports prior to the 2008 offensive suggested that up to 30 percent of males between the ages of 14 and 30 had already been using Tramadol on a regular basis, with some 15,000 showing signs of addiction....

Whatever the tactics and results, the demand for drugs continues and as with any illicit drug trade anywhere in the world, as long as there is demand there will be dealers willing to take whatever risks are necessary to meet that demand and reap its immense profits.

And of course it recieves commendations, stars, "how right you are"....

If you lived in 1940s Germany, youd be accussing the Jews of engineering their own demise.

So a radical Islam doesnt exist?

Hamas - the ISLAMIC resistance movement, formed by the MB, based on the same Jihadist doctrine...none of this exists????

Israel has to create enemies, right??? None actually exist?? Oh but of course. If they do exist, its Israels own fault for creating them.

You people are complete and total ignoramuses. You know NOTHING about Islam, you know NOTHING about Middle Eastern Politics. You reduce everything to Israel false flags etc. Youve jumped in line with popular left propaganda.

Its a pathetic, and obviously poignant example of a very biased anti-zionism, that is so glaringly reptitive coming from you, that it appears to be motivated by an anti-semitism.

This article suggests third parties.

Attacks lead Israel to condemn the Arab Spring

(August 19, 2011)

The attacks coincide with ongoing Egyptian military operations against Islamist groups in the Sinai Peninsula ... (a move Israel endorsed). Since the fall of Mubarak, anti-government fighters in the Sinai have been attacking Egyptian military outposts, infiltrating into towns and blowing up gas pipelines between Egypt and Israel. Since Mubarak's fall, the Israeli government has asserted that Hamas has redoubled its efforts to ship weapons into Gaza through the tunnels (indeed, the Egyptian Army's control of the region slackened during the anti-regime protests; the resulting campaign is an effort to reassert control over the strategic peninsula).

In choosing to target Eilat, the attackers may have sought to influence Egypt's position towards Israel by stoking the fires of anti-Israeli sentiment in the region. Remember that one of the first things the transitional government that replaced Israel's long-time ally Mubarak promised to do was uphold the 1979 peace treaty with Israel, a treaty which at the time was regarded as an act of capitulation by then-Egyptian president Anwar Sadat. The transitional government had absolutely no desire to test Israeli will or American largess by repudiating that treaty, or the agreements that followed it. [color=limegreen]By attacking targets on the Israeli-Egyptian border, the insurgents may hope to win accolades for so brazenly "sticking it" to the two main regional powers.

Why do you ignore radical islam - or simply, Islam?

Why do you ignore the motives for the other side?? This entire thread is focused on demonizing Israel and Israel alone. It ignores the menace that is Islam.

You would think its reputation worldwide, In India, Indonesia, Middle East, The Sudan, Nigeria, Kenya etc etc would make it blatant and so impossible to deny that there is an Islamic agenda against non-Muslims, starting with Israel (who dares to assert soverignty in their ancient homland)

But for some idiotic reason, fools like you think this is all "zionist propaganda"...

I is about the probability that the governing officials in Israel orchestrated a false flag attack on their own people to forward their agenda.

Your only tactic is to label people as anti-semites. It's pathetic.

When I speak against the elected officials in Israel, in now way what so ever am I speaking against Judaism. How does it feel to support a murderous regime that is well known for false flag activity and human rights abuses? I bet it feels great don't it?

Logically, there are TWO sides. Not simply Israel and its own agenda.

OK?? There EXISTS OTHER AGENDAS - ie, other philosophies, which REJECT AND OPPOSE the West and so Israel.

How is this NOT relevant??

Israel DOES NOT have to create enemies. Hamas already exists. It was created by the Muslim Brotherhood. Have you read Al-Bannas Manifesto? Do you even know or care who he was? Do you know anything about Yusuf Qaradawi - the foremost theologian of the Muslim Brotherhood??

Its been less then a century since the fall of the ottoman caliphate. How do you think the worlds Muslims feel about that?? Their very religion - Islam - means "to submit" - to submit to God, which means to submit to Shari'a.

Islam has ALWAYS since its foundations been interested in complete and total world domination and there has always existed a caliphate of some sort.. Why else do you think the socialist left and Islam get along so well?? They may have existential philosophical differences, but their differences towards governance are sparse. They both agree with methodology. One will - whether that be the collective will of rousseau, or Allah, RULES ALL...

Its been less than a hundred years, and the muslim brotherhood was created to COUNTER the atheism and secularism of the west in order to UNDERMINE it, and eventually overpower it. The Islamic ideal of a Caliphate, a unified world Islamic empire, is STILL VERY REAL. Israel is merely one peg, perhaps the symbol of what they hate most, but it is not the end.

And here you are playing their game. Accusing Israel of manufacturing its own terror attacks because its not like their enemies benefit from these sort of attacks. Its not like there hasnt been heightened militant/terrorist activity in the Sinai and Gaza in the last few weeks. And that this attack was predicted by Israeli Military intelligence.

In anycase, this will most certainly NOT prevent the PA from making a bid for stateship in Septemeber, even though their doing so contravenes the oslo agreement. The PA is also in major financial woes right now. If anything were to get in the way of their national interests, it would be the lack of money; and also the possibility of offending the US - a partner in the peace talks - which gives them billions every year in economic aid. They really need that money.

There are much surer issues to prevent the PAs success at the UN next month than engineering a false flag.

Additionally, Hamas has announced the end of the Cease-fire, allowing its terror wing, the Al Qassam brigades, complete freedom to attack Israel. To enter Israel, or shoot rockets (which they were in anycase doing during their "cease-fire") and so dampen their 'image' in the west.

Thus, you argument is fallacious. This wont accomplish what you think it will accomplish. The PA , if it were worried about being cast as 'bellicose', would have done something about Hamas long ago. They would also, undoubtedly, have not made ammends with them a few months ago and so brought them into the propcture as a joint partner in the PA's state bid.

An intresting theory, however I dont see any facts that support the linkage of the drug trade to Israeli domestic policy or foreign policy. To me, and its my opinion so no offense, it seems people will go to any lengths to attribute facts taken out of context in an effort to change the story.

Its like the argument others make about Hamas having every right to attack Israel and defend itself..... Until Hamas attacks a schoolbus, at which point it changes to Hamas being controlled and run by Mossad (we dont need to rehash that debate btw, I am just pointing out the argument style with interchangeable facts and loyalty).

Another example is the comment on Gaza and being under their own control. Israel withdrew from Gaza and left it to Hamas to run things. They have an open unrestricted border crossing with Egypt now, yet the arguments ae still the same, and anytime something comes from Gaza, its suggested the Israelis are behind it.

When Hamas security personell are tipped of to the planting of a roadside bomb and asked to stay away, and they comply, there is an issue. Do you find it plausible that an unknown group (when compared to other groups in the ME) could operate out of Gaza, arming themselves, launchng an attack on Israeli positions, retreating through gaza in the middle of a fire fight with Israeli forces, make it to the Egyptian border, only to say we had no idea what was going on?

The Palestinian vote is coming up.. I can easily see this provocation as an attempt to place focus on the middle East before the vote. The attacks are designed to make Israel look like the agressor, and since Egypt yanked their ambassador, I would even go far as to say that Hamas, Egypt, Syria and Iran are all invovled in a coordinated effort.

As I pointed out, and feel free to disassemble my arguent, that anytime an attack occurs and Israel responds, the mindset is Israel is behind it as a flase flag attack.

Is it so difficult for people to accept that Hamas is no angel either?

Neither side is innocent, however the bulk of the blame is not Israels fault. The Palestinians have been used as proxies by Arab Governments since the creation of Israel.

Palestinians have had over 15-20 different occasions where they could have had their own independant state and ahve refused the idea, mainly at the behest of Arab governments who have no intrest in seeing Israel survive as a nation.

Hamas has hijacked the Paleestinian issue, and their actions to date reinforce the fact they dont have the Palestinians peoples intrest in their minds at all. This was confirmed when Israel announed they were open to peace for land. Hamas goes on record saying no because they will never abandon their goal of the destruction of Israel.

Exactly how do you find "peace" when the other partys main goal is your destruction? Would you take actions to isolate them?

The analogy of the Police btw is a joke, since the manner you have written it suggests that the drive by is justified. Civilian casualties on both sides would be lower if the following was done:
* - Hamas not launching unguided munitions at any Israeli target / city. Dont target school buses, dont target civilians.
* - Hamas should quit launching their attacks from heavily populated areas and should stop using schools, hospitals and mosques as a location from which to launch their attacks.

Hamas has gone on the record stating they ahve no issues with dead palestinians so long as Israel is eventually defeated.

The goal on both sides should be peaceful coexistance.

Hamas's charter pretty much makes that impossible, and to not acknowledge that fact and just blame Israel is a joke.

I wonder if its all about big money.

If Palestine becomes independent, the black markets may lose money.

Roths child Reuters and Jerusalem Post pushing lies to justify killing of Palestinians

While Hamas militants have not taken responsibility for any of the rocket attacks and have, in fact, been arresting suspected militants, Reuters published that, “A Hamas radio station announced the group’s armed wing had decided 'there is no longer any truce with the enemy,' alluding to a 2009 deal that ended a three week Israeli offensive targeting militants firing rockets at the Jewish state.”....

who are we supposed to believe ?

the media's conflicting reports, none of which could even be true ?

Apparently a broadcast on a purported Hamas station is a completely reliable and authoritative source, even when it is directly contradicted by the official party leadership.

This caliber of “journalism” from Reuters is appalling, especially given their status as a supposedly balanced news service.

Not surprisingly, the Jerusalem Post didn’t even bother publishing all of the facts and instead opted for publishing only that which justifies their aggression....

I wonder who owns the Palestinian media ?

Egypt has reported that one army officer and two security officials were killed on the Egyptian side of the Israel-Egyptian border but have not given lucid details on how they were murdered.

The Israeli Defense Force alleged that there was a firefight between IDF troops and “militants” along the Israeli-Egyptian border and has claimed in an official statement that they “will investigate the matter thoroughly and update the Egyptians.”...

Not surprisingly, the United States Department of State has only condemned the possible false flag attack on Israel while remaining silent on the disproportionate murder of Palestinians and the killing of Egyptians...

is there any law that stops the media from being liers ?

Israel media lies
U.S. media lies
Arab media lies
Persian media lies.
U.K. media lies.

what do they have in common ?

MONEY The Nazis were pretty good at this !

I wonder if this recent incident even happened at all !!

Could be a "media generated" false flag. No attacks, no injuries.
