Like someone said there are no coincidences. These are all a symptom of something. The most obvious is that these tents and stages were designed for a past era; one that was relatively calmer.

The weather has changed, worldwide, for the worse. Mother nature has upped the ante, upped the destructive power of her storms and these collapses are proof. Three in one month cannot be ignored.

These are signs of change. I don't think we've seen the worst of it yet.

To add to your points made, over the last few weeks in Toronto entire window panels have come crashing to the floor off of the balconies of a relatively new condo building in one of the more "posh" areas of downtown.

Interesting weather indeed, officials said it had to due with the excessive heat...

The building codes on everything from temporary entertainment venues to apartment buildings are going to have to be rewritten by the looks of it to accommodate stronger winds, heavier rains and snows and scorching heat where there wasn't any before.

I would think the buildings in Toronto are put up with strict adherence to existing codes; no funny business like in poorer countries, so the codes just aren't up to the realities of 21st century weather; or is it 2012 anomalies??
