Your fridge is not "over unity". It is not generating 3 watts of power for each watt of input.

Bully?? This site's motto is "Deny Ignorance". This thread is littered with ignorance yet no-one seems to give a darn
You think it's productive to have a discussion where people are getting elementary science flat out wrong? That's not a discussion, it's wilful basking in ignorance. It serves no purpose other than to let posters pat each other on the back and say "great work, champ!" when absolutely nothing is substantiated. What's the value in that?

Then why waste your breath??? do you need attention???

You are talking of somrething similar to a heat pump which uses the refrigeration cycle.
The COP of heat pump is always greater than 1.
Allegedly according to info on the net, there was a chap called dennis lee, who built a heat pump
and was obtaining investments, when the govt. offered him 1 billion dollars to shut his shop down.
Allegedly, he refused, but dunno what happened to him and his project after that.

Quite true about the COP of heat pump systems but there's no conspiracy to cover up the technology which is simply 24 hour solar energy. They're commonly available here for domestic heating and water heaters are a recent development for the mass market with the only drawbacks being longterm reliability (high level of mechanical componentry) and high up-front cost (for the water heaters) but they should get cheaper as sales increase.

How to achieve unity? I thought sitting in a circle holding hands and singing Kumbayah could work.

But seriously, I like your premise and it reminded me of this tech:
thetechjournal.com...
They are now working on a wireless version with no usb input. Pretty cool! Here's to unity and kinetic energy.

Peace,
spec

Would be interesting to know which main company is selling these systems in oz.
And if they export this tech

All the major manufacturers/suppliers here have them available right now eg Solahart, Dux, Rheem and energy companies also act as agents for them. I doubt they're actually manufactured here and, at best, some may be locally assembled. Postage overseas would be expensive and unnecessary if the guts of them is being made somewhere like Malaysia, Singapore, China etc (the usual suspects).

Natural gas is still the cheapest way to heat water though but not everyone here has access to piped gas. Bottled gas is the next best option but considerably more expensive (still beats electricity by a country mile).

Excuse me? You have not addressed a single rebuttal I have made. Every time I point out a blatant scientific inaccuracy you stick your fingers in your ears and go "la la can't hear you".

Hey does anybody have a product ready to be tested out yet?

Is anybody even close?

Getting real tired of the pointless bickering back and forth as to whether it's possible or not - especially when the whole premise of this thread is to assume that it is possible......

I think it is a done deal as quite a few people have acheived this.

It's snake oil. No one has ever made an over unity device of any sort. Want proof?
Try to buy one. It's simple as that.
You can buy drugs.
You can buy Soviet era subs.
You can buy kidneys.
You can buy people.

But you can't buy over unity.

Not over unity, but sorta on the same wavelength..perpetual motion

www.youtube.com...

www.youtube.com...

"Invented by Mr. Reidar Finsrud, the whole machine is placed inside a glass mount, to prevent visitors who view the machine in the gallery from touching it.
A steel ball (about 2.7 inch diameter, 20 pound) is rolling on an aluminum track, about 25 inches in diameter, placed horizontally. Three pendulums, about 45 inches long with tunable weights at the lower end, controls three horse-shoe magnets that the steel ball has to pass by on the track. Embedded in the track is a (mechanical) controlling/timing mechanism. It looks like a steel wire bent into a triangular track, 5 inches long. The ball rolls over it and pushes the wire down through a slot in the track. This affects one of the pendulums and regulates its swinging motion. The steel ball has not stopped revolving for months."

That is one awesome machine, almost hypnotic in fact...lol

He has protected his device enclosure from close scrutiny, or design plans from peer review by claiming it is purely art. Because it needs frequent maintenance (lubrication) it is started and stopped every few weeks. A researcher stated that 14 days was the longest that he personally had observed this cycle to be, but could not disprove the several months claim outright. Without a power source such as a clockwork spring, battery, or electric input this device would violate several if not all of the currently accepted laws of physics.

If he is ever able to overcome the frequent restart problem, or allows a complete examination of his sculpture to disprove the possibility of deliberate fraud, science will have to be rewritten almost in it's entirety.

'Perpetual motion' doesn't violate any laws as it can be achieved if energy losses such as friction can be eliminated. A 'perpetual motion machine' is another matter as it implies you can take energy from the system without depleting it which is an impossibility. There have been many examples of virtual perpetual motion in closed systems (eg. orbiting planets and some notable 'toy' gadgets) but try to drive anything with them and they stop due to loss of kinetic and potential energy that maintains the motion.

Wrong. There are open-source kits you can order and assemble, they've been available for like two years now.

I hate to bring them up again though, because the same thing will happen that always happens: everyone will challenge me to buy one and prove that they work. All the onus and risk and responsibility will be put on me, but no one will actually offer to help with the project; so nothing will get done.

Perpetual motion describes hypothetical machines that operate or produce useful work indefinitely and, more generally, hypothetical machines that produce more work or energy than they consume, whether they might operate indefinitely or not.

There is undisputed scientific consensus that perpetual motion would violate either the first law of thermodynamics, the second law of thermodynamics, or both. Machines which comply with both laws of thermodynamics but access energy from obscure sources are sometimes referred to as perpetual motion machines, although they do not meet the standard criteria for the name.

Despite the fact that successful perpetual motion devices are physically impossible in terms of our current understanding of the laws of physics, the pursuit of perpetual motion remains popular.

Absolutely
What's tragic is that virtually the same proposals for these miracle machines have been rehashed in various forms based on the same disproven principles for over 500 years by a never-ending supply of snake-oil salesmen. Even more tragic is that suckers still fall for the designs and get lured into investing in them with dreams of getting rich.

Here's an almost perpetual motion toy gadget dipping bird but try to extract energy from it and it stops.
