Ron Paul Will Win The Republican Nomination & The Presidency

No, I'm sorry but he will NOT win.
Why?

..because it takes a whole lotta "attaboy's" to overcome one "uh oh".
He shot himself on the foot when he said there should be a nuclear Iran, and that didn't go well with many.

Also, he may have the intelligence to be President but his demeanor and personality are a little too much on the "push over" side.
He is too much of a kind sweet Uncle, (translation: not tough enough).
That alone will keep from voting for him.

I don't think Ron Paul is going to get elected mainly on the fact that people don't want to actually want to go through with his policies. I think Paul's stances on the wars and possibly even drugs are the only things he'll have in common with the general population. Once you get to eliminating of minimum wage, medicare, social security, and the allowance of states to fully dictate social issues like abortion, you're going to lose the vote of most the population, and you can shape that whichever way you want. I'm sure he'll play down many of his policies to attract a wide array of votes, as of recent, he's been softer on medicare , but he's prior views will come back to him, believe you me.

Republican voters in general are not ignorant of who Ron Paul is in general. From personal experience I have not met a conservative voter who doesn't know who Paul is, my father knows who he is, some of my friends who happen to be Romney supporters, know who Paul is. Many of them think he's extreme even for them, and I agree. I mean when you get down to it, the policies of Bachmann, Perry, romney and Paul, aside from the wars, they are not that much different. The only real differences is that Paul will actually go through with what he talks about on his campaign, the others are just using these policies as campaign slogans. Truth is, when conservatives, in particular, tea partiers, yap on about the evils of socialism,, they don't mean ending medicare and social security, many don't want to go through with that. When candidates yap on about the evils of big government and government regulation, they don't mean you should actually eliminate minimum wage. They don't want a politician that will actually do these things. They'll insist they do, and proudly march against these programmes, but they don't really want to go through with it. This is why republicans in general try not to touch medicare and other programmes, they try not to venture to far. Paul Ryans budget was a closest to what Ron Paul would have done and supported, but then again republicans knew Paul ryans budget wouldn't gain support, if it actually did, I doubt they'd go for it in full. Despite Ron Pauls showing in the somewhat insignificant straw poll, most conservative voters still do not want to vote for him, and if you translate this to independents and some swing liberal voters, forget it, really.

He's not electable, and I'll put my bottom dollar on that. I must say though, Ron Paul has gained far more exposure in the media. If he loses next year, Paulers cannot complain that he was unfairly done by a group of masked men sitting around the table because at the end, the voters make the decisions in the end.

If the people were to rally to Ron Paul, they are going to be in for a shock, and the sad part is it is all out there in the public domain for anyone to read, no excuses.

Yeah the biggest thing is people are starting to get the warm and fuzzies about Ron Paul's message. Once that news letter is all over the MSM, its over for him. I think we will see this if the MSM sees that he really does have a chance of winning.

but seriously, an internet poll doesn't really mean anything when it comes to to ron paul. his supporters generally flood online polls, so those results are no news to me. but it does seem like eventually the msm won't be able to ignore him, i mean ever since the straw poll the floodgates are starting to crumble. after jon stewarts segment there was a lot of articles about the media's tendency to ignore him, and a few days ago he even got the top story on the huffington post ("from the fringe to the fast lane"). its a shame though that most of the electorate is just gonna go with the establishment candidate regardless...

He hasn't got a chance in hell, if he did he'd be dead ...

True, but he has a defense for that. He want's to give all non-violent drug offenders in prison a pardon. And last time I checked thats like 80% black latino. That's a whole lot of families brought back together. You think they will have the balls to call racist, when he wants too free them from prison.

I think that there might very well be less negative energy around Ron Paul coming from Anti-Ron Paulers than pro Ron Paulers.

As much as this statement will amuse some people here who spend all their time poking fun at the more hokey threads... this site, to me, is supposed to be about people giving critical analysis to any number of things, based on evidence and fact.

The fact is that extremely evil people are in control of this world. They are very willing to murder millions to stay in power. Wise up. Ron Paul isn't changing anything. Support him, vote for him, that's great. But don't delude yourself. JFK was killed before he could stop the central banks. Ron Paul will never be allowed to stop them either. Nothing is going to change until the populace rises up and changes it. The sooner you realize that the better off you will be.

I agree to an extent, but I believe in what I call my "ALL IN" theory. And thats when you can get enough awakened Americans to the two party system, that's it. Just the knowledge that left- right are the same, no matter who wins. Also you need an incredible negative outlook and knowledge of the future. You get "All IN." Enough people know we are screwed as a country, and neither main line canidate is going to do anything about it. They know either way we are screwed. Most people know Paul is not a phony or liar. I mean you don't say "I dont care if Iran gets Nukes it's non of our business" while running, and then reverse once elected, it makes no sense. Paul Rings TRUTH. He has enough trust by the people right now in this world climate for someone to say. Well he is the only telling the truth, that I know, maybe he's right, **** it IM ALL IN! We are going down anyway, it can't get any worse.

I think the "evil people" are stuck between a rock and a hard place on Ron Paul. They let him go for too long and his following has grown quite large. All the negative energy does need to come down so what about his electability if his name is on the ballot he can be elected. If you are going to vote for him vote for him. I personally think Ron is not for the media he hasn't ever been coached and he doesn't practice debates he hasn't been polished he is authentic. But to understand what he is saying a few news clips will not do it you have to do a lot of research or read his book...a movie would be nice...but nonetheless the time he has to answer on debates or new stations is just not enough time.
There are some fresh new voters out there from family members to their friends and family. Point them in the right direction to read and research since it is their future at stake the most. Even at work my friend and I talk about politics and Ron Paul nearly everyday. And people pick up on it and some even become interested...not all...but some is better than none. Word of mouth imo is the best form of promotion there is. Tell one friend and he/she will tell another, put a sign in your yard, wear a Ron Paul t-shirt to Walmart. Don't expect the media, who isn't our friend, to help us out in overthrowing the system.
In short if you plan on voting for Ron Paul in the primaries and the general election when he gets there. Take some time to think about donating....$ 20.12 a month shouldn't hurt to much but if it does I understand if you don't. Register in your state as a Republican so you can vote in the primaries and get your friends registered too.

The only ones that statement didn't go well with are complete and utter morons, i.e. those that can't see the big picture. So I wouldn't worry about that being an "uh oh".

If he can get the nomination, which is key, I think he has a good shot at picking up enough disgruntled democrats and independents that he would win a national election.

Note I am saying this as a person who doesn't support Ron Paul, but I am not blind to the fact he really could win if and I mean if he gets the Republican nomination.

It will honestly be harder for him to get that nomination then get elected president. The current GOP is dominated by old money and religious zealots. They seem hellbent on getting an actual or pretend fundamentalist nominated, e.g. Bachman or Perry. They do that and Obama will win the election.

If Republicans really want Obama out of the White House, they are going to have to swallow their pride and nominate Ron Paul. To paraphrase Star Wars, he may be their only hope.

Didn't ron paul say he wouldn't run for the house in 2012? Could this mean he's setting himself up for a third party run if he doesn't win the nomination, since he won't have to run as a republican?

Bottom Line , If the Republicons want the Power of the White House Back in 2012 their Best Shot at it is with Ron Paul as their Candidate . Otherwise , Obamanation and the Demoprogressives will continue to tear this County apart with their Insane Policies . well if he did get elected he would be the oldest president elected in american history with old ronnie regan being bumped to number two,i know there is not a age cap per se but if hes 75 turning 76 was it? he would be 80 by the end of his first term and if elected again might make it too 84! it might prove interesting having such a older and hopefully wiser person in office but didnt regan suposedly have alshimhers(no idea how to spell it) for a few years of his presidency? en.wikipedia.org...

Ron Paul is almost 76 years old...he looks to me like he is healthy....however...I have heard it mentioned...I think it was on CNN...that his age will work against him.

As far as me voting for him....(I have not decided as yet)....let's see if he even runs for President first.
