I had this thought (and copyright it (if good)
), see it through, and
let me know what you think of it ( is it guts?/or nuts? )

So what if -
Govt funding, private sector funding, and/or a University's Grants/Donations, were combined and used to build an electricity power generation plant that utilized the local green energy resource that is best (eg; solar,hydro,wind,geo-thermal,etc) for the region.

-The University can then:
= Have a satellite campus near to the plant for students in related fields/sciences.

=The plant, if planned, could have added sound proof walkways and side-rooms, for students to experience, visualize and learn from a working plant.

=Sell the generated electricity to generate income, ideally becoming self-funded, not-for-profit universities.

=If enough income generated, pass on 10% to low-income education funding in the area.

=People who sign on as customers would see their electricity bill money really be paying for education.

=local employment opportunities. and apprenticeships.

Does that make sense? Add some ideas good/bad?

You want to put students in a power plant? I smell trouble

Seriously tho, it's a good idea, but it's communism isn't it?

The government, the university, or anyone other than our rich elite masters owning the utilities company is going to be a no no to the people with the guns.

Good idea other than that tho...
