Eh.. this is a stretch. Most movie places have a backroom. He was investing in a nationwide rental company I doubt anyone even considered the porn. I mean I don't like him, I wouldn't vote for him.. but still c'mon.

If this data is true, then Rick's "hard core" Christian value is hypocritical especially when using money to invest in "sex"-related materials/activities. It's VERY bad when children/teenagers are in porn. But I guess hu-men nature cannot change their appreciative views of beautiful women.

I don't think it's petty when you consider the man's "Christian family values" platform.

Not just any old porn company, either, America's largest distributor at the time.

Bringing up a 5-10K investment over 15 years ago. It was still just an investment in a movie rental franchise that
happened to rent porn movies on the side, it wasn't their main attraction.

Petty.

It's only "petty" if you didn't base your platform condemning that exact behavior. If that were Gary Johnson or Bill Clinton, it would be petty. But if you were somebody who vocally judged others for viewing people getting it on in front of a camera... it's not petty.

It's hypocrisy and it should be pointed out each and every time a candidate tries to pass out life lessons from his cloud of judgement only to be caught pissing on those same lessons.

Personally, I don't hold it against him at all for it. I hold it against him for condemning others for that lifestyle.

So are you guys saying that anybody who buys/has bought an iPod at almost any point in time is now a hypocrite if they fight for worker's rights?

If you were a politician who focused on the injustices of children laboring in Chinese factories but also invested into iPod, then yes. Yes, that politician would be a hypocrite.

Leave politician out of it.

Would a regular person be a hypocrite even if they were unaware of such happenings?

If anybody focused and blew a trumpet about a cause and then actively invested money that countered that cause, that same cause you condemn others for countering, then yes... that's the very definition of hypocrisy.

Everybody is a hypocrite at some point but the difference is that most people aren't using those contradictions for personal gain.

Sounds like a good investment to me. I wish I invested in Internet porn in the 90's... I'd be a billionaire and probably would be running for governor to take his place, haha!

Seriously though, there is almost no such thing as a perfect Christian. I am sure he confessed his sins and was forgiven, that's good enough for people of that faith...

Anyway, I hate when these political stories drowned out the real news and problems happening around the world. Every four years they have something to hide their crap behind.

I like porn like the next guy, come on.

But he made money off of it, and he's running for President, and he's touted as the conservative that will save us all.

I like Texas too (as I've already stated).

Please put down your Texas flag for a minute.

How can you look yourself in the mirror thinking he was a good Governor?

He killed the anti-TSA grope and grab your junk bill...

He tried to force young women to take forced vaccinations, that turned out to be deadly,

If he's a good Governor, what do you consider bad?!?!?

The circumstances do seem odd, but I think there is more to the story than what is being said.
He is a person just like you and I. Every Politician does something that we wont agree with from time to time.

In the bigger picture the vaccinations had the potential to save lives. So he had good intentions.
They force children to get multiple vaccinations to go to school, young adults are forced vaccinations for college and even employers force vaccinations or screenings on employees, it's just a part of life.

As for the TSA issue, yeah it sucks to be groped (for some) , but the US was threatening a no fly zone over Texas which would have been devastating to the economy.

So overall, I think he is doing a lot better job the most governors out there.

Just had to chime in regarding your post.

To be forced to get multiple or even one vaccination is NOT part of life, it is IMHO more like a good ol' boys club where the concoction is invested in and through infultration of certain federal departments by other club members into positions authorized to cherry-pick the products that are mandated de facto, result in obscene profits for all parties involved at the expense of the citizens pocket books and health, using data, reports and test results that may be backed by seudoscience, flawed parameters, outright lies and of course, actual true accurate results, but the latter, in my research has not ever been proven regarding vaccines. These are facts and has been debated heavily.

A great example would be the FDA's relentless pursuit to crucify Dr. Burzynski.
The difference is that big pharma seems to control these agencies as if they were personal attack dogs whereas a common serf would be served a big helping of RICO and buried away in some federal prison to eliminate the criminal from society.
While those who profit suck down umbrella drinks at the beach of some tropical paradise, Mr. common serf is on Bubbas Cell sucking down something else to avoid gang attacks or death.

In closing, I believe that vaccines are definitely not just part of life, they are an income stream that through manipulation of agencies, propeganda and lies that cost us unfathonable amounts of monies and deteriation of heath, as well as costing us our ability to reason clearly due to some additives on said concoctions.

Other than that, you do have a gew valid points im sure, just having trouble seeing them myself.
Peace

Rick Perry's Hardcore History of Investment in Porn

www.politicususa.com

Rick Perry, God’s Chosen to pray Texas into prosperity, invested as a private citizen in Movie Gallery corporation to the tune of between 5-10k according to his 1995 personal financial reports. Movie Gallery was, at that time, the largest distributor of porn in America, and able to sell and rent regular videos for much cheaper than the competition due to their heady porn profit. The ultra conservative American Family Association (AFA), a self-described “Christian organization promoting the biblical ethic of decency in American society with primary emphasis on TV and other media” known fo

I don't get it?

What's more than identifying a human desire, banning it, and then making a profit off of it?

Is he running for US POTUS or POPE?

What's also funny while you are degrading him because of his "involvement", the majority of you
are probably watching porn right now

I watch porn ( not right now, am at work)

I'm not running for president on a platform that loudly proclaims my "family values" though.

At the end of the day I don't care if you watch porn, make porn, invest in porn, eat porn, love porn...just don't be a jerk about it and tell me porn is wrong whilst you do it.

I used to be pro-choice but now I am pro-life, so even if before I advocated for a position I now abhor does that brand me a hypocrite? I would thing being able to overlook one's past as being fair-minded. This is just political mudslinging. The compny wasn't even a company that was only about porn.

If this is the best dirt that can be dug up on Perry, then Clinton's, Bush's and Obama's dirt make Perry look like a saint in comparison.

Perry could even spin it to show "he found the Lord" and the evangelicals will eat it up.

What many people fail to realize when they bash religious conservatives are the stories of King David or Paul, and evangelicals love a story of man who got on the "right" path and left a life of sin.

Now if they found out he was investing in Vivid video last year, that would be different.

Agreed and I can't stand Perry.

While I admit it's slightly hypocritical, most rabid Capitalists and Corporate sycophants don't really care how they make their money.

Saying Texas has a good economy compared to the world markets today is like saying Roeanne Barr looks good in a club about 1:55am and all the girls are gone.

Seriously, there are more fitting reasons to not like perry than porn...

Under his governorship...

Texas has increased taxes...

Texas has grown it's deficit and deficit spending...

He vetoed the TSA bill..

He was a Democrat that supported Al "global warming" Gore when Al was already spewing global warming warnings back in 1988...Campaign manager in Texas no less

He hangs with the Bilderberg crowd...Illuminati or not... he is not the "good ol' boy" he espouses to be

Perry seems to be riding the "religious right gravy train" and his faith seems articulated...and I say that as a Christian

In conclusion, and in an anecdotal way...unscientifically backed... there is something about Rick Perry that just doesn't sit well with me...I can't put my finger on it. He seems almost a caricature of a "conservative, right center, Christian"...

Kinda like a love song that has all the right notes and all the right words..but still comes across as cliched and manufactured.

Anyway...his investing in a video business that distributed all kinds of movies including porn is not a reason to not vote for him. High taxes, unconstitutional ideals, deficit spending at the state level...those are good reasons to not vote for Perry.
