Because the cartels work for the US government.

Can you prove that?

Oh and by the way your assertion that legalization will not stop the violence is wrong.
No i'm not wrong,i'm absolutely correct.Even if drugs were legalized in mexico, that would not stop the cartels from continuing to control it,enforce it and kill innocent people over it...

We will have failed as a nation if we do nothing to avenge the innocent americans who have been murdered by the evil and viscious mexican drug cartels...

Because peaceful protest is not the same as relevant action...

get the fed "cartels" out, and let them legalize drugs like they wanted to. (just like many other countries; they saw the problem.. wanted to fix it.. but uncle sam didn't like that) and the problem would be solved.

isn't it obvious? that if you turn drugs from a criminal issue to a social one, and legalize them. that you'd drop the bottom line right out from the "cartels" ?
isn't it fairly obvious that the ones running the drugs and making the millions must be in cahoots or are one-and-the-same with the ones making the drug laws? they're the only beneficiaries.
surely the government can see this

the war on drugs is exactly why it's so profitable to deal drugs.

and don't feed me some BS about a drugged up useless society if we did so. look at Portugal's track record after decriminalizing drug use.

A fabrication? please, gimme a break.Living and thinking in complacent denial wont change the reality that almost 50,000 people have been killed in the mexican drug wars since 2006,many americans among them and those numbers are purposefully lowballed and a lot of the murders are not being reported in the media...

Why did you answer in separate posts?

But the cartels would become legit and would be able to use the legal system to settle things instead of gunfights. Also the government and multinational corporations could move into the drug business.

Just look at how the end of prohibition caused a decrease in gang violence in the US. Of course they move into other activities but the amount of violence goes down when the profit margin is decreased.

The zetas, which is the group that is responsible for the wave of violence in mexico, were trained by US special forces. Before them the cartels each coexisted with much less violence. When the presidents of Guatemala and El Salvador stated that legalization should be considered the US jumped and stood against it. Why?

It's part of the plan to bring about the NAU.

And you should stop calling them drug crazed cartels, it sounds infantile.

Well according to crime stats there have been over 80,000 murders in the US between 2006 and 2010 so why is Mexico's 50,000 shocking. OK maybe fabrication was the wrong word but the focus has an agenda behind it.

Honduras and jamaica dont border the usa and the people of those countries are not murdering hundreds of americans, like the mexican drug cartels are and will continue to do so if we stay idle and in denial and these types of beyond evil killings will spill over and spread into america against american citizens if we continue to do nothing...

Do thses photos look like fabrications of the evil violence that is rampaging all over mexico? >

Honduras is only 600 kilometers from Mexico.

I already stated that fabrication was the wrong word choice.

Still doesn't change the fact that more americans are murdered in the US than both americans and mexicans in Mexico. Over 80,000 murders in the US in 5 years. I think the violence spilled over into Mexico from the US.

You are text book war mongering based on YOUR perceptions and ideas, counter to logical, practical and even military capabilities, not to mention strategy. You are just looking at the death count and saying "Bad go kill"
The day will probably come where it will be militarily necessary to protect US borders from penetrating enemy assets. But that doesn't mean we are Nazi Germany fighting a 2 front war. they didn't do so well as you may recall.
What training have you taken to give you the knowledge to asses the situation anyway?

The majority of people who are being viciously slaughtered by the evil drug cartels, are ordinary mexican citizens not connected to the drug trade and their mothers and fathers, wives and husbands, sons and daughters are being kidnapped, raped, tortured and beheaded because they refused to be pay the cartels protection money. Tens of thousands of innocent people every year are being terrorized through extortion attempts and then ruthlessly murdered for showing the slightest resistance, because they happen to be living in areas where the cartels are operating and as my previous links have shown, the extremely sadistic violence and death has already spilled over and spread into the usa and american citizens are being murdered and if i had the authority to do something about it,the cartels would very quickly wish they were never born...

You're really full of yourself. As if the US is free of crime. Organized crime has always existed in the US it isn't making its way in from Mexico. You calling for the invasion of a sovereign nation with a death toll lower than the US is hypocritical. Maybe you should get rid of the gangs in the US before you go poking your nose into other country's affairs.

Ever see any human body parts thrown all over the streets in the usa? ever see any severed heads hanging off of highyway overpasses in the usa? and when is the usa ever not militarily involving itself into another sovereign nation, only they are all thousands of miles away, not along the border of our own country, where we should be most concerned about...

Please, there have been gruesome murders in the US. Just because americans have changed lynchings for drive by's doesn't mean it is less violent.

Exaggeration does make your case any better.

They were so concerned that they trained them just like they trained al qaida.

In this crazy imaginary scenario where Mexico is invaded again, the drug cartels would prosper. US soldiers are very good at smuggling. The power would shift around a bit, but the streets would run thicker with blood. Maybe this was Reagan's plan when he set up the current system.

Hey Blocula --

Well if the US did invade Mexico, it would be for the OIL they have - not for any druggie reasons - and from there it would only be a hop to good ole Venezuela who has even MORE proven supplies of LIGHT SWEET CRUDE OIL in the ground than Mexico does (as far as we know, that is !!)

It would be have been very interesting if the US government decided to make Mexico and Venezuela 'terrorist states' (i.e. worthy of invasion) instead of poor lil Iraq....but maybe the CIA and the Military-Industrial-Legislative Complex is just waiting for the right moment to take care of business closer to home AFTER we've squeezed every drop out of the Middle East First..

Then there's the eastern half of the Dakotas --- more light sweet crude and natural gas than ever, apparently, was discovered there....

So if you're out of work and can relocate (and don't mind 30-degree below zero weather in the winter) - there's hot properties for sale up there at the moment !!!

The streets of mexico are going to run red with blood anyways and to stand up for those already killed and to prevent future slaughter,i would try and eliminate the cartels using only air power, our superior air force and that way we wouldnt have to put any american soldiers on the ground and what sort of resistance in the form of air power would the cartels be able to use against the united states air force? just about nothing...

As a whole, the country of mexico has a combined airforce of about 350 airplanes...

The united states has almost 18,000 aircraft in total and around 4,500 combat aircraft and so we would be able to severely crush the drug cartels from the air,if we really wanted to...
