With school starting up again soon I thought this would be relevant to any parents with young children.

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Those school lunches, lovingly packed by parents in the morning, could be carrying a very unappetizing surprise - dangerous bacteria.

Researchers at the University of Texas at Austin tested the packed lunches of about 700 preschool children.

Almost all the perishable food items were considered unsafe to eat.

Oh can I ever see that being used as a future justification for banning home packed lunches entirely. So much better they'll say, to *buy* the food supplied by the school from a controlled kitchen and 'professional' food workers. They've already banned cupcakes and cookies from schools in many places in little birthday party thigns. We should have figured this was coming. Just appoint the Grinch to oversee the national education system. At least everyone will know what to expect.
