I am sorry The picture is not a pic of a fox with Mange.. This is a Natural animal simply born Hairless. It is a Hairless Grey Fox At least the one in the picture I posted is. In you picture it looks like a Hairless Fox as well everything matches. I do not know where you got Mange from in the first place I didn't see anything on the video stating it had mange..

I got the word mange from one of the first posters who said it was a coyote with mange.

How in the world do people see what is clearly a dog and think "mysterious creature"?

Its clearly a canid, but not clearly a dog or we wouldn't be discussing it. If the folks who trapped it had the foresight to have someone check it out instead of releasing it we'd know for a fact what it was.

Great find and absolutely lovely looking face on that animal.

I couldn't watch the video, it was 'unavailable' but I have to add:

“It’s a kangaroo, dog, rat, mixed,” X-ray technician Joe Livermore told the news station. “I don’t know what it is.”

I would so not want to have to go to him for a broken...anything!

Beyond that? I would vote for fox with mange. Poor lil thing.

peace *wink*

Considering the bleeding on the tail in that pic, and the spottiness of hair growth, it could well be mange, but I dunno.

I would say its a Coyote with Mange..........again.

My thinking to....Some kind of stray/wild dog with horrible mange.

Just like when people say they found a Chupacabra!

I'm not sure what it is, maybe some kind of fox. but I am glad they released him / her / it. the poor little thing loked scared to death in that cage. if you want to study him do so from afar and if you want DNA may I suggest a pooper scooper. animals don't belong in cages ............ they have as much right to be here as we do. hell, they know how to treat the earth, maybe we should follow their lead.

I think fox as well. Was my very first thought when I saw the caged animal.

People tend to get excited over these sort of things, but it is common enough.

Aye it is bleeding. But that can be explained by its tail getting got in that trap they had set for him.. well anyways I still don't beleive it has mange.

Did you see the length of it's tail?
it was dragging it as it ran from the trap?....very strange indeed!

Just from having dealt with live animal traps I'd say the blood on the tail is where it got caught under the spring loaded door.
