Beef Stroganoff is one of my favorite meals. It is so simple!

I like to slow cook mine for about 4hrs on low.

I learned a little tid bit about Beef Stroganoff that I didnt know. It is actually a dish traced back to 19th century Russia. I always thought it was German! However the version most eat in restaurants is the German version.

Early versions of it had just cubed beef floured and sauteed and then topped with mustard. Later on sour cream or Smetna were added to the dish. The German version adds mushrooms and sauteed onions. This is what we know as Beef Stroganoff in the states. There are also variations that add diced green onions to the mix and to the topping along with the sour cream.

I was going to make bread but didn't have time so I got some dinner rolls in the biscuit section where you find Grands dinner rolls, when they were half way cooked I basted the entire top of each with butter. Make sure the entire top is covered. Next I sprinkled some fresh dill on top and continued cooking.

allergic to eggs. Can you
give me an idea of an alternative
for the egg noodles? I can eat

In my grocers section right next to the egg noodles there are egg alternative noodles which I have tried and taste no different to me. The texture is slightly fluffier for lack of a better word, but other than that almost identical.

OP: I do a very similar recipe, but I add 1/4 cup more wine and 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese.

You can use regular pasta noodles. What about bow tie?

I have seen it made with bow tie pasta and ziti noodles before.

It's good and very easy to make. I don;t think this is one anyone can mess up lol I tell my friends to try it esp the ones who dont like to cook or are afraid and they love it! You can alter it in many ways to make it creamier if you want. I use more sour cream and a little beef granules.

Ohhhhhh like an au gratin style but with the stroganoff? That would be very good! You could even bake it! I am definitely going to try this next. I love potatoes!

You'd have to bake it, otherwise yer taters would fall apart. Looks delish, but total diet crusher.

LOL!
People always ask how I stay in shape with all the cooking I do and well honestly I don't really eat that much of it lol I taste while cooking so when it's done Im full! I also have my dad's metabolism it seems, very fast.

Which one you using beef in?

I love to alter and use other meats for my recipes. Everytime I make something I am brain storming on how I could alter it the next time lol

The Afghan Beef Raviolis I made I am making something similar but it will be stuff with chicken marsala
I will use bigger won ton wrappers though so they are individual serving sized.

Let me know how yours turns out!!

It's quite alright. Google wouldn't have anything on it. It's a underground dish only enjoyed by a certain class. Its actually illegal in some countries because of it's deliciousness.

It'll blow your mind, that's for sure.
