Strange noises heard around the globe - Are meteors the source of the sound?

There have been hundreds of reports around the world about strange noises that cannot be explained. Could this possibly be an explanation?





Maybe we have a lot more reports of these strange sounds due to an increase in the number of meteors entering our atmosphere?

Not in person.

Only through the available vids online.

The sound may differ as it makes its way through the atmosphere to the surface of the planet. I am only throwing this out there as a possibility.

Anyways, I thought that the sound captured was interesting and worth posting.

Some of the sounds last anywhere from 20 to as long as an hour. Do you really think a meteor is the source of all these? Maybe some but not all.

What that video sounds like to me is a ping noise used by old radar on subs. What I heard this Saturday watching the meteor shower was what I would describe as artillery shells flying over head (bang followed by a really quick swoosh noise). There was a sonic boom, and not just one but usually in small groups of 5 to 10'ish. My wife actually noticed while watching TV wondering who was shooting fireworks in the area. I went out to investigate and could hear the noise but only saw a few shooting stars. The moon was full and very bright so I think this took away from what I could of saw of the shower. I'll never forget the noise the meteors made though. Awesome display!!!

According to the AMS, the American Meteor Society, there are several thousand fireballs a day falling to Earth. There are plenty of incoming meteors, many large, every day and every year. The numbers have not been increasing.

If this sound is captured by a radar, then the sound is due to the generation of radio waves. Radio waves are not related to sound waves.
