I don't agree with it either, but reading similar stories of dog-murdering pigs could have driven this guy over the edge. If cops didn't routinely murder dogs, this would not be an issue.

You said in your previous post that you agree with it:

Your dog is worth more than a person's life? In some countries, dog is food. It sounds like what you really think is that a dog is worth more than a LEO's life.

I don't see pointing a stun gun at my dog as a reason to pull out a shotgun and start blasting away. Even though I love my dog.
Phasers were set to stun, not kill. This man lost his life, police officer or not, over ignorance.

Exactly...now his children have to grow up without a father....he was just doing his job....the man who killed him is a stupid and foolish person.....he has ruined his life too.....because he will most likely spend the rest of it in prison.

It's sad that there is even an argument about this. Some people have their heads buried so far up their ass with their all police are evil bull# that they're too dumb to realize a man lost his life over a DOG. A dog whose sole purpose in life is to eat, sleep, and bark. I don't care what anyone has to spout off about their liberties and freedom, NO HUMAN NEEDS TO DIE BECAUSE OF AN ANIMAL.

No animal needs to die because of a human. When you spiritually evolve you'll appreciate that we're fortunate enough to cohabit this planet with our fellow earthlings, including the canine species. I pity the arrogance of your statement. Humans are far more evil than canines. Accept it.

Regardless of if a warrant was issued or not, if the officer was responding to a call, no warrant was needed.

The disturbance took place on the roadway, from what info we have. The officer has no right to go onto a persons property without their permission, unless:

*there is an emergency (i.e. crime in progress)

*life or property are in imminent danger

Granted, the officer can go up and try and question someone, but as soon as that someone says to get off their property, the officer must comply.

In your story, you could have easily gone inside, and told the sheriff to get a warrant, if he wanted to investigate further.

It baffles me how so many people wish to piss on the 4th Amendment.

.that's great!!

put this on his web site, i dare ya.

the murdered cop didn't need a warrant!

he didn't kill the dogs, he was murdered with a 12guage to the face.

leaving behind a family.

If the dogs were attacking the officer, what do you think he should have done? Suggestions please.

You thinking it is ok to kill the cop over pointing a stun gun at a dog is like killing a German because he looked like Hitler.....

Just because there are bad cops, doesn't mean its ok to kill or even hate all cops. It seems to me like you are indeed a cop hater.

Do yourself a favor, and don't call the cops the next time someone robs you, or God forbid harms you in any way. I know plenty of good cops out there, and they would gladly put their lives on the line for you.... even if they knew you hated them.

The guy that shot the cop deserves the death penalty... And since he wont be around to take care of his dogs, they can go ahead and put them down too.....

The police shoot dogs so frequently in people's homes that there's a collection of jokes about it that are getting old.

Like: It's always the cat that downloads the porn, but it's the dog who gets shot when the cops come!"

I can't believe there are TWO threads on this not-surprising-at-all news item.

Wasn't a threat to anyone that stayed off of the guys property..
I think it sucks that the cop got killed, but had he killed that man (as they so often do) he wouldn't face near the penalty that the man faces and that is just as much an injustice.

Finding it hard to care 1 little bit about a cop getting shot. (about as hard as pigs do when they kill innocent people)

Still trying to care......nope, it's just not in me to care 1 iota about a dead pig. But then, my hatred for the police runs deeper than the deepest canyon, and will run that deep forever more.

I would do anything to protect my dogs, they are under my care, and i will protect them. If a filthy cop came anywhere near them, I'd make sure that he/she didn't even get the chance to hurt them, what ever the costs.

And for those saying that in some countries dogs are food, well, in a couple of cultures still in existance, people are food. We should stop killing animals for food full stop. Life is life, and we have no right to end 1 life to feed another. It defeats the point. But that's my opinion, and another thread in itself.

My prayers and sympathy for the officers family.

That said, I'd urge anyone in a similar situation to practice some restraint and remain calm. Its one thing to defend your home and property, its another to kill someone, anyone, over something that can be replaced.

I know we're just animals with egos - but I think of the animals referred to as property, as just that - property. With that said, I think that property should not be thought to have more value than that of a human. I think that if you're emotionally attached to an animal, or an item, then you should rethink your value system.

I'm sure the police departments could use other means of sedating or paralyzing the dog.
There are other ways. It's not like they'd have to invent the wheel or fire to do that.
It's a choice on their part.

people can be replaced, just pop another one out. I'm sure there are plenty of people lining up to abuse other people and become coppers. So this pig will, or probably already has been, replaced.
