I dont need to watch it to know for 100% sure it's the one I'm thinking of.

I also agree that it is by far the worst thing I've ever witnessed and myself cried the first time I saw it and I'm a grown ass man. You hear about this kind of stuff happening all the time in far stretches of the world but to actually see if with your own eyes and know it actually took place to that exact detail is very disturbing...

I've mentioned this video over the years at random and the sound still haunts me to this day and I saw this at least 6 if not more years ago..

Anyone with even a basic education and a real understanding of history should get my posts. I knew when I posted what I did there would be folks like you that tried to challenge my logic. But your inability to even comprehend my posts makes enlightening you impossible, sorry. Seriously, read and try to understand my posts, then read yours. I know, you might be embarrassed, but that is how learning works.

Seriously, study up on some history. I'm not worried about debating an educated person regarding my position, but someone who doesn't know what they are talking about and just says "blah blah blah" as you have is pointless.

War is a time reserved for the removal of ways of life that are incompatible with another way of life and cannot coexist. The world had been in peace time since Iraq took control of its own government and military. if you call what we are doing now a war, then truly you don't know what a real war is. What we are in now has many names. "clean up", "supporting role", "watchdog", "police", etc etc.

Peace time does exist. Peace time is when we are no longer facing a way of life that makes our way of life impossible to proceed. A couple hundred cave dwellers half a world away has no impact on making our way of life impossible. Ergo, this is peace time.

Am I growing victory gardens? Can I buy war bonds? Is there a Draft? Is there a national drive to produce military over civilian products? No to all of these. That's called wartime. And until at least most of these are once again in work, it is peace time.

What the hell are you talking about? Are you trying to form a world opinion based on your ignorant, limited experience on ONE countries politics? I think if you are part of an army especially too I think along the lines of you know there's a better chance of this happening to you that to civi's.

You know, regardless of how inhumane, apalling, and disgsting this video is...I'm most upset with the OP of this thread here on ATS. What did you expect us to do? When you were telling us over and over again not to watch, did you really think we wouldn't? Why did you bring this up 10 years later? Are you, or someone you know, related to, or familiar with any of the victims? How many times have you watched it since you posted it for all of us to see? Sick to your stomach, and crying about it, huh? Just thought you'd like us to suffer with you? Really...WTF did you put it on here for? The leader of this horrible squad is dead by his own men's hands already, and nothing is going to bring those dead soldiers back. Nothing is going to stop atrocities like this from happening...it happens all over the world every day. Not just in the military. Watch the news much? You can't stop it, but you like bringing up and broadcasting this #..? YOU disgust me.

I don't feel I am embarrassing myself. I seem to count 2, maybe 3 other posters saying your wrong too, while you're defending yourself and not anyone I can see is calling you right.

So really, the only one embarrassing themselves is yourself. And you may want to stop posting because it's getting quite embarrassing for you and we really all would rather not have to point to the difference between war time and peace time and the rules of civility therein.

Of course if you would like to get educated, we here at ATS are more than happy to provide.

I agree with this statement. There should be some consideration as to how this information should be disseminated, but nevertheless, it should. I also would like to say thank you for all of your input in the matter.

I haven't read this whole thread, only the first post, and I didn't watch the vid or click any of the links, but I figured that the content of the first post was enough to comment on. Some of you know I have spent a lot of time in ex-Soviet Central Asia, although never in Chechnya. Even so, I know a thing or two about a thing or two.

My reaction to the post was very curious. I felt a kind of heavy, heavy, leaden disinterest close over me. It was very sullen and seemed to be a kind of boredom but upon closer examination it was conceiling a cold, slow anger underneath. A mix of anger and boredom, for a bland mental cloud that makes me simply not want to look at the video or even read too much of this thread. I also feel a little angry at the OP, but I recognize that is irrational so I filter it out. Even so, I wonder why? Shoot the messenger syndrome? Or something more? Something about the tone...whatever, irrelevant.

But at any rate, the overall effect was a kind of dull cloud that made me just..turn away from the subject, in my mind. So I have absolutely no interest in watching that, and in fact I cannot understand why these things circulate and why anyone would watch them. Upon speculation I conclude that, outside of a very few organic sickos, people who enjoy these things have never experienced significant physical pain or privation. If they had, they would naturally shy away from anything like that viscerally, without even thinking. Seems so to me anyway.

You can't smell it, you can't taste it, and listening to recorded audio is nothing compared to what you would actually hear if you were there. The smell of death is unforgetable, and hearing their death screams (right before the person knows that they will die) is one of the most disturbing sounds ever, and seeing these things with ones own eyes instead of watching a video is a whole other ball game.

My I assume by your post above you are or were miliatry? I appreciate this insight if so. I can only imagine the things you have seen in combat. I also appreciate the fact that a soldier is the one lecturing on having a heart.
