Oh yeah, that Chechnya video really did a job on my mind. For years I couldn't get it out of my head. In fact, that video gave me a burning hatred for Islamic extremists.

never seen that video before..... that's really [messed] up stuff. I can get down with a quick killing but slashing a dude's neck with a knife is just mutilation and cruel. I hope they got what they deserved

Well spoken gimme_some_truth, and thanks for the personal side of the story. This behavior, from any human, is unacceptable. Yes, this does happen in war. Yes, it has happened forever. No, it is not right.

No remorse I am offended? That's cool. I'll be ok. I find it interesting that throughout this thread, no where and not once have I said this shouldn't be available. Why is it I can find beheading videos but not pedophilia or rape videos? According to your idea, these too should be freely available on the internet - I mean, hey, you know what you are watching thus it's ok, right?

Please answer - why are there no rape or pedaphilia videos that I, as an adult, can make a decision to watch?

You are welcome. It was hard for me to bring up....but I felt like it needed to be included....

Stuff like that....It doesn't have to happen....But it does.....

I don't know....it just sucks and....I know we could make a positive difference, if we would just.... be nice to each other.

The Russians in Chechnya have comitted similar atrocities. They also were barbaric and inhumane in their destruction of the country. They murdered, raped and destroyed Chechnya. They should give a lesson in mercy, I agree.

Does the US fund the Chechnyan Militants? I wouldn't be suprised but do you have any other info, links on that?

I am a member of the website that hosts this video, well, one of a few, anyway.

I see the need to have this recorded and available to the public as one of historical and humanistic significance.

People need to know what we as a species are capable of.

We do not live in dream land and we do not have any proven pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

The more young people who are shown these graven images the better, for they will understand that Humans are nothing more than scared animals.

To obtain a true and pure world-view, one must face the dirt and the fire head on.

Reality isn't obscene, it is simply reality.

It may not be the reality that you are used to seeing, but it is certainly common to many, many people.

If anything, make it available to as many people as you can.

The world must be educated, and the sooner, the better.

You act all shock and awe when it is done by another country, but silence when it comes to your own country doing the same.

Silence says a lot. How can you think that is terrible when there has been bloody lots of news and videos of it happening in Iraq.

While brutally murdering someone is most definitely obscene, I believe it falls (at least in the US) under the First Amendment classification for news and is thus protected speech. Pornography on the other hand is not news, although it could fall under the category of "artistic expression."

I don't remember his name off the top of my head but a SCOTUS judge was asked for his definition of obscenity as it relates to porn and he famously replied, "I'll know it when I see it." I think he was just a horndog that wanted a free screening of "Behind the Green Door."

Thanks to Bolo, I'VE seen obscene porn - several times.

I swear the man is twisted beyond belief.

I agree with you. I am curious though, as an administrator, do you see any variance in what is generally allowed on the internet regarding hardcore porn/ hardcore violence? Do you believe hardcore violent rape should be shown? Thanks again for your input and I am curious to hear your response!

I am speaking about a specific incident on video tape. I am not saying anything about the atrocities committed by others, only that they are just as wrong. I am also interested in the American laws on obscenity.

Some were killed. The main guy is serving life in prison. I don't know if it is justice.
