That's my opinion too.

I watched the video and there was nothing in it that suprised me. The people who did this were obviously full of hatred towards the Russians. The downside to this video is that it generated even more hatred in some. It makes them want to kill those in the video. Which would generate even more hatred and so on and so on...

For peace to actually happen on this planet, someone, somewhere has to stand up and say "I won't kill anymore". But once killing starts, it generates so much hate that it's very hard to stop.

I guess the thing for me is the slow, deliberate nature of murdering six men, all as they plead - one tries to run, it is heart breaking. I have seen some palastinian/israeli stuff - some Iraq and Afghan stuff - mostly involved people blown up - this just is so personal...any thoughts on legality of this vs porn?

I'm not really affected by the images from the clip.....rather I am saddened by the attitude of our fellow human

Imagine if harakiri (seppuku) being filmed and uploaded onto the Internet today.....it would put Mid-East countries beheading tradition at shame.

Agreed.
I was asking myself the same while watching it.
Would have rather got shot then my head removed.
Have seen worse though. I had the same reaction as OP the first video I saw that was like this.

I agree that there should be freedom of the press and that these videos should be available to those who wish to see them - in some context - I can't imagine rape/murder videos from soldiers being shown on liveleak. Clearly some moral ground has been established.

OP you should watch A Serbian Film or just read about it. That would really raise your eyebrows. I sort of want to see it but I think it would really bug me because of children. I can't stand seeing children or animals hurt. I know it's weird I can watch anything else but I get angry as HELL if I see someone hit a dog.

I don't think we are desensitized but alot of people here understand the brutality of what actually occurs in conflicts like this and one video is just the same as the other. Wars are not like video games or movies, they can make normal people do unnatural things. I don't know the details of this but I imagine it could easily have been the killers laying on the ground receiving the same treatment from those that were killed. For all we know those that were murderered have commited the same attrocities.

To be honest I get more disgusted by watching slaughterhouse video than this stuff anymore.

That is what got me to...humans pleading for their lives, murdered friends around them. Body parts, people shot, people blown up with explosives, etc is not as bad as this. Do you believe this should be censored as pornography is? Thanks!

I just can't bring myself to sympathize with anyone who rattles off "God is great" over and over when they are doing the most ungodly things imaginable.

Same reason I just can't bring myself to support those Libyan rebels.

I have seen a few Serb atrocity docus...how about the war-boys from Liberia? Charles Taylors boys? Eating hearts from a captured general...the Congo vids? Those people are insane. I listed a few vids in my OP ie: burning witches alive narco torture etc..all are sick; should there be an "R" rating on them? Anything so my 8 year old doesn't somehow type in something by accident and see this? Thanks for the dialog!

If these videos are illegal to upload and decency laws prevent it, how will we ever know that these things are happening? Such things do make these sites money, yes, but they also let the rest of us know and raise awareness of such atrocity. Reality is an ugly, ugly affair, and sometimes we need things like this to make us understand that our comfy little bubble is a blessing and to be grateful for it.

Serbian Film is just a movie but if you read the synopsis I'm fairly sure you will be horrified. It's pretty nasty and it is surprising to me that you can just go rent it. I agree with it being legal to watch, just surprised stores stock it.

4chan isn't bad at all, you're right. Every once in awhile maybe a disturbing .gif thread but that's about it.

Edit to add: It is still there though it looks like it's gone through some changes since I last saw it.

I thought you were refering to serb atrocity films, of which there are a few. That looks like a movie I may skip. I used to love horror films and still do to a degree; some of the push the limits stuff I can't go for anymore.
