Where is the part of Obama's remarks where Obama compares himself to MLK?. I suppose one has to read between the lines. By definition, though, that means I'm reading something that isn't there.

Which is tantamount to the Democrats and Obama in particular. What you read wasn't there (in action) and what they do wasn't there for you to read before it happened.

I guess it's all in how you interpret that. If what he says is happening, I'm not in agreement because I'm trying to bend the arc in the opposite direction.

The man is an amazing political orator. He was giving a political speach, not a speach about history and he knew exactly what he was doing. He is using inference as a speaking strategy and is directly connecting King's struggle for civil rights to the objectives of his own political agenda. Thus he was drawing a direct connection between himself and King.

Now he did not come out and say "I'm just like Martin Luther King". No, what he did was far more sophisticated and insidious. He drew the connection between a political agenda and a struggle for basic human rights and in so doing did two things. Draw a connection between those heros who worked on the ground, supporting King in his struggle with those fools who support Obama's campaign, thus making those acts appear moral and just, making the folks who shell out $30K for a breakfast somehow feel that is a moral act. In the process drew a connection between himself as the leaders of these two efforts.

The first thing that came to mind when reading the title of this post was Lloyd Bentsen’s classic line to Dan Quayle.

“Senator, I served with Jack Kennedy, I knew Jack Kennedy, Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. Senator, you’re no Jack Kennedy.”

I don't think I'm alone in saying Barack Obama is no Martin Luther King Jr.

Oddly enough, just the other day my friend spotted an odd bowling ball at the alley. At first glance, the front indicated that it was probably some commemorative Civil Rights / MLK / etc.

Upon further investigation of that same ball, my friend became disgusted, as did I. The other side of the ball showed:

This man and his administration are delusional! His contributions (if you want to call them that) are nowhere near those of MLK. I firmly believe MLK would be offended by this nonsense today!

What a doofus.

That is sad.

MLKjr said "I have a dream...", not "had". When one quotes an orator, one must be specific.
When words are changed, everything else should be questioned and is most likely false.

put down the haterade

Obama’s speech would have stood on its own without comparing himself to MLK or any other person. It was a well written speech. and did not need the comparison.

You need to analyze the reason for injecting MLK and the memorial into the speech.

The injection of a memorial and the comparison of another person (MLK) into the speech are intended to benefit the person giving the speech and does not add any constructive content.

This technique is similar to movie theaters adding frames of popcorn, candy and soda into a movie. Subliminally it creates a want to buy these items. The injections stated above are positive frames of MLK intended to reflect positively on the speech giver.

Obama is a shill. He is unable to create his own positive image so he needs to leech off of other men's accomplishments

Disgusting.

Go home Obama, you've stood for nothing, you're just another puppet of the masonic zionists, time to find another job and give way to a real president; Ron Paul.

Obama is to King what I am to Sir Edmund Hilary. (I once climbed a hill)

This is one of the finest comparisons I have heard in a long time. Made me chuckle.
Well said Sir or Sir'et

For Mr. Obama to compare his struggle for forced socialism to that of Mr. King's struggle for equal rights is akin to comparing rotten apples to, well, ripe juicy ones!

JennaDarling:
You and our President (?) seem to have a lot in common. Hopefully he will be unemployed shortly. Would you please invite him to become a citizen, and leader, of your country?

See ya,
Milt

I suspect that we have witnessed the root piece of his 2012 campaign.

This comparison will be ballyhooed and picked up by the blind fools that put him into office because he has no standing othewise. They must sustain their fervor for him with this borrowed, obscure, philosophical position from the legend of King because getting real doesn't work for the wouldbe Black Messiah, it never did. The young masses will be strongly voiced, but the wise elders in the party won't allow it. He will never make it to the ballot. --er, so my opinion is....

Could not have said it better, BioSafe!! Alot of people talk badly about other Presidents. Sorry....but this guy takes the cake!! Not matter what others may think of this - I do NOT consider him MY President!!

As if he has not, already, done a great job to destroy EVERYTHING our Country stands for, another 4 years of this man will destroy us completely!!

And, do not start with the 'you're a racist' BS!! I am as far away from that as anyone could be - I just against stupid people! Of which our current President seems to be!!

What are one-liners ok now?

We all need to look into neuro-linguistic programing. Everything that this man says is written, gone over, re-written, tested, practiced, approved by a committee. You can't read into it too much. From his body language to his inflection to the words themselves. His life is scripted! I am just some martial arts nerd, but if we do it in our training you better believe the POTUS does.

communication broken down =
7%--- the words you use
Tonality = 33%---the tones you use on those words
Physicality = 55% the posture of your body when you convey the message

5% to be split among them according to the depth of training

When all else fails...play that race card...infront of guilty, uber wealthy, glitterati.

Barry isn't campaigning to be an arbitor of social/financial change like MLK...no Mr. Dunham/Soetaro/Obama truly thinks, in his narcissism, that he IS King. As in Emperor, Ruler; Messiah; Deity; that is. He uses the Martin Luther part as a cover. Barry justs wants to be King!
