An Request For Chinese Members To Post and Inform.

I have noticed the absence of posts by Chinese members here on ATS.

I do not mean chinese by ethnicity or descent, but actual Chinese members posting their thoughts and opinions from China.
I would like to genuinely know how things are in mainland China.
It may be educational.
Sort of like an aquaintace thread with an up and coming world superpower .

their internet is SO heavily monitored ever there. the gov't literally runs it. i dont even think they get google, but ill have to research. i hear one way they post on non chinese sites is by using proxies and tor. but yea, id love to hear how things are goin over there from non msm.

I mean there are over 1 billion mainland chinese, and not one of them is a member on ATS?

I find it hard to believe the west would trade with such tyrants? if they banned their citizens from using the international internet.
No I believe our leaders would not deal with those who deny fundamental human rights?

There must be Chinese mainlanders here surely?

I live in Mainland China, in Northeastern China. Am an american citizen and have lived here 7 years and absolutely love living here.

Google routes to Hong Kong Google server, social sites such as Facebook and twitter are not allowed, but am thankful for that. Skype, and its Asian counterpart QQ is very popular in China as it saves on phone expenses and allows video conferencing. Ive been posting on ATS for several years and have never had issue accessing or posting on ATS... many Chinese read this site without posting, some stories and posts are very informative, such as the archaeology and religion, space and technology threads.

China is not as oppressive as everyone makes out to be, as long as govt policies are followed there is more personal freedom than in US, which is hard to explain until my friends come to visit and see for themselves. Business is fantastic, 300-400% in real estate appreciation since moving here, without counting the currency increases of Yuan against USD.


anyway just my 2 cents about China...its a wonderful place to live as long as you follow policies.

The average westerner can tell some wisdom to the average Chinese on this subject....trinkets do not buy freedom, globalisation will make you poorer, sooner than later.
You may crave the electricity, but they will take your rice even and make you beg for it.
