Cloudy Moon 2011-08-13, Equipment MTO11CA & 40mm Eyepiece.
I tried to get asteroid Vesta on video, but to much clouds.
Next time better if I get the chance?

i wanna know what kind of camera to buy since im low on money a bit i wanna know what is a good cheap camera that has good quality feedback? say around $100-200 seems like a joke huh

I would go for a sony HX5V i love that camera, i think it will be in your budget at the moment

Great thread I was also looking at the moon for hours last night, I took afew photos using a Nokia N97 mobile phone through the 25mm eyepiece of a eight inch dob, so to shoot the moon you don't need an expensive camera.

Having said that the N97 has a good quality camera on board I guess?
The images were brilliant(Ok for a newbie) the moon was so clear in Australia.

Yes some mobiles have a amazing camera onboard!! but for all round work the sony hx5v is brilliant you can even walk with it with almost no shocks

Did you see the Perseid meteor shower ? nothing to see here only clouds...
Around 8 October we have the Taurid rain, expected are between 600 and 1000 shooting stars per hour
And November 18 and 17 is the turn of the Leonids .
