There is nothing wrong with being wealthy, or rich.
There is how ever something wrong with certain ways or means in which wealth is attained and what is then done or NOT done with said wealth.
You cannot receive the benefits of that which you condemn, but you can be condemned by denying the benefits of wealth to others.

It is not wealth itself that generates the evil,
it is the greed and fear of hoarding.

The real problem is the elite aren't necessarily concerned with increasing their wealth as much as they are interested in increasing their power.

There is one poster in this thread who goes around calling everyone who thinks there is an imbalance in power a communist. But a free market can not exists unless there are protections in place. The focus should be less in taxing the rich on more on establishing regulations to ensure a free market.

AIG is a perfect example. Here was an industry too big to fail, so the taxpayers had to give it a welfare check. Pretty close to communism with the populations supporting a few government backed companies. The employees in AIG, according to free market standards, should have been begging on the street. Instead, they used the government to continue their lavish lifestyle even though they totally screwed up.

There's so much old boys club and networking that goes on which creates artificial barriers to trade. You can't say this is free market.

Also, free market assumes everyone starts out equally. If you have people who inherit a few hundred million, they have an artificial advantage. They are going to get ahead not because they have a better product or more efficient but solely on the barrier to trade they created.

The problem is not HOW to fight back - it's convincing people they NEED to fight back. If enough people woke up, within four years, the unfair laws and corrupt government could be changed just by voting. The problem is people don't perceive a problem.

(As a side note, I do resent the OP using the rape analogy. )

This is what happens when companies get too big, they can pay their way to bigger profits.

I'm sure Bill Gates pays more in taxes in one year than you will in your entire lifetime yet receives no more benefits from the State than you do.

Is that fair?

He should at least get a statue of him placed somewhere.

Are you serious? Do you really believe that??

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesnt Bill Gates have something to do with something called the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation? Does that organization pay taxes? And isn't that the same Bill Gates that has been talking about those really great vaccines that would curb the populations of third world countires if they "do a really, really good job with them"??

Is that the Bill Gates you're talking about? And you think THAT GUY deserves a statue of himself somewhere??

That 46 trillion could go a long way into creating a few jobs...............

How many are unemployed in this country right now? I'll just say 20 million (as a guess/estimate).

Let's divide 46 trillion by 20 million.

Well....looks like we could set up the 20 million unemployed for life...giving them 2.3 million dollars to each one....or hell...they could simply hire them and make them push brooms so they could earn a paycheck.

But as we all know...profits doesn't equal jobs.....

I wish our broke ass government froze all of their accounts like they did to Mubarak and Gaddafi. Then, they should seize all but a couple billion dollars for each person, or force them to donate most of it to the states in which they live in to improve the standard of living for its citizens and the infrastructure.

OR, they could pass a law against hoarding. Some like they can only hold 4-5 billion dollars at any given time. The rest must be spent, given away, or invested constantly to improve the economy.

Now I am pretty sure that what make our government some sorta of huge, Nazi-Communist-Socialist state with supreme authority, which I am against, and the elite would probably immediately implode the country and flee, but for god sakes something has to be done about these hoarding bastruds! Nobody needs that much money.

There is one MAJOR problem with what you just stated. If we gave all those people that much money, 2.3 million dollars would suddenly become a worthless sum.

Everyone who's flying off the handle here needs to understand that it is IMPOSSIBLE to raise taxes on someone else without raising them on yourself. You really think taxing the elite will do any good? They'll simply turn around and raise their own salaries, and then charge you more for the goods or services their companies provide.

Also, the idea that the elite went to great lengths to orchestrate a massive shakedown of our economy is absurd; they already own the overwhelming majority of the worlds wealth, they don't give THAT much of a crap about the 2% or so you hold. At the end of the day, the American people caused the meltdown by buying crap they knew they couldn't afford, and accepting contractual terms that were obviously suicidal.

Further, the idea that the average person's standard of living has fallen over the past 50 years is ridiculous. 50 years ago you could not use the internet to access practically all of the knowledge you will ever need to be successful, let alone buy a personal computer. 50 years ago it didn't matter how rich you were, you could still be paralyzed by polio. 50 years ago no one could buy a cell phone, and if this recession had happened 50 years ago YOU REALLY MIGHT HAVE STARVED.

"Wealth" in monetary terms might be more concentrated these days, but ACTUAL wealth isn't. Technology has made the average person richer than ever before.

I guess of these people most don't spend all day on yachts and probably work more than 80 hours a week.

I don't really get the point of this article other than motivating everyone to try and get a piece of that pie!

Instead of being upset that they get so many and u don't.

Just like the thoughts in Africa about "imperialists" Africans keep complaining about the rich and force them out, what happens is everyone is poor then

So stop thinking like an African feeling sorry for yourself.

They can throw a great party in hell with satan.

I don't see what is the big issue with the wealthy in this country or anywhere for that matter. If they want to toil to and fro all hours of the day for that meaningless toilet paper? More power to them. If they kicked a few people while they were down more power to them, and better them than me. If they think money is a symbol of success and wisdom, let them get inebriated with their own delusions of grandeur. Let them make money hand over fist, manipulate the markets, engage in rampant fraud and corruption, buy some politicians, militarize their gated communities, and any other delusional motive to protect their power and treasure chest because at the end of the day it is they that have to look in the mirror at themselves. Some don't even care, and that is great as well. The worm turns and what goes around comes around.

Look no further than what happened to the wealthy during the stock market crash of 1929 and the ensuing depression that followed. Many families and power houses went down with the ship, and others decided to leave the earth all together on their own terms as a result of the shock. If you want to look back a little further lets take a gander at the French Revolution. I understand the guillotine was mighty busy in those days. It is simply history, and how the universe seems to sort things out on its own.

When the walls come crashing in, and they will. Like in the past, it will be this lot flinging themselves out of windows and looking over their shoulder in fear of the people in tattered rags. That is not the life I would want under those circumstances. Sooner or later that almighty dollar will be nothing more than something to wipe your rear-end with. Or kindling for the fire place. We all inhabit the earth together. We all put our pants on one leg at a time, and are completely the same. So we can go on and on about the rich this the rich that, elites, NWO, or whatever. When it all boils down, each and everyone of us will have to face the storm that is on the horizon together.

Besides, everyone thinks by taxing the rich it will be the silver bullet for the US debt crisis. Well, I beg to differ. This debt is untenable and should see that. Trillions upon trillions of dollars going down the rat hole. Printing money out of thin air, and with no end in sight. You can take everything from the rich and even down to the cloths on their backs, and it will still not mend the catastrophic debt. Collapse is inevitable.

Okay, and some of the socialist and communists would like to distribute the wealth, and the downtrodden will have their day in the sun? That is a bunch rubbish and it will only give the downtrodden temporary satisfaction. Any student of history should know full well how that undertaking works. Lets face it folks, mankind is on the cusp of some dark days ahead. The rich will have to pay their fair share as well as the lowly schmo digging out of dumpsters and sipping water out of gutters. Time to pay the piper. Time to accept the future for what is and the harshness it entails. Time to get out of the old and into the new. What we have here is a house of cards, and all it is going to is take one swift wind to blow it all down. What is the point of this thread again?

You got your high standard of life to thank for these guys(high standard compared to the world)

So the last thing you wanna do is make them take their money elsewhere, with them they will take job opportunities.

Its one thing when these people are becoming rich by sitting on their brain dead asses and not spending a cent in the country but that's not the case.

Somewhere someone is benefiting from these people.

Some English guy said it very well " Money is like muck (manure) its no good unless it is spread around" Just what is the point in gathering all that money into bank accounts? the principal would never get spent, let alone the interest, just does not make sense to me.
Most of that wealth is inherited, its not 'earned' at all.

can you blame them they are only playing the same game you are.

I wonder what they want the cash for, or if they have just bought everything they want and have no need to spend the cash.

They want the cash so they can put very expensive leashes on people when
they attempt to take over the slave population.

Your post tells me you're not in touch with reality.

"The desire

The intelligence

The hard work

People need to ask themselves which of those areas they are failing in and address that instead of shifting blame to those that have already made it."

There are plenty of intelligent people that work hard that are not rich. It doesn't have to have anything to do with their intelligence or ability to work hard. Do you realize how many people are on this earth and the conditions they live in? It's even right here in our own country. If you think that every poor person or any person that's not rich, are that way because of lack of intelligence, lack of desire or laziness, you are stupid!

By the way, all your precious dollars are worthless. It's just paper! If you want real money, bring back the gold & silver. If you want a strong economy, destroy the Federal Reserve & the IRS. There is no law stating that we must pay a Federal Income Tax. NONE.

They cannot remove the bread and circus in a syatem where distractions are used to pacify, because the instant it is withheld the less fortunate will simply hunt down and kill the rich, wealthy few just out of spite if for no other reason. The thing about wealth is that unless the system that produced it remains in place and functional and a paramilitary force like the police can stand between the rich and the less fortunate, it is quite meaningless to claim to possess anything you cannot physically secure. My guess is the wealthy will locate in remote areas and hope for the best when the paper BS system does go tits up.

Another point i think it is important to mention, you can have fifty trillion dollars, but if the system that gives the dollar buying power fails, you aint got jack. Basically what this means boiled down is that there cannot be a wealthy if the poor cannot be successfully pacified, and we are headed for a world wide revolution where anyone that even looks like they might be a bit on the snobish side is simply gunned down and gutted in the streets.
