Hi!: What's up with the correlation between CATS and ATS?

Relatively new to registry, but not to ATS--just only new from being read-only.

I didn't see members' photos/avatars from the outside, and had no idea there were be so many cats in place here...I personally prefer dogs, and do not favor cats.

I am wanting to hear from members as to why there are (or why they think there are) so many cat photos/avatars/references on the site.

Don't let the title fool you though, I am interested in anything you have to say (please be easy), and to connect with some of you with common interests and mind-sets.

I, as most, love a conspiracy, and love mysteries, enigmas, ironies, etc.

I most of all love information, knowledge, and diverse points-of-view.

Please let me know what ya think and what ya know!

Well it goes back to Egypt. Cats were a symbol of power and considered royal (because of Bast, the Goddess). And today many still hold them in the highest esteem, I mean have you ever known dog to pittle and poo in the toilet? Have you ever tried to train a dog to use the toilet? Most likely It will just drink from the toilet, so cats even tough their brains are smaller, are much smarter than dogs, which proves they are the superior pet.

Thanks for the insight. Makes sense.

I beg to differ, though. A CAT chose to do his #2 biz in my car seat as a child, and supposedly attempted to take "the breath" outta me, and I have a scar on my nose to prove.

On the other hand, you're right. He was trying to overthrow Princess ME.

Well I can't speak for everyone else but my cats are my avatar. Small dogs live in fear of them and medium ones just leave them alone.

I couldn't resist I love the furry little buggers, Egyptians where much known cat lovers, and skywatchers so maybe its something to do with all the skywatchers here and that ancient correlation, gods, goddesses have been depicted as cats plenty of ancient civilization fans here that may be a cause. or maybe because most conspiracy theorists can't find anyone else to listen to them kidding we all talk to each other.

I'm with you on that. Anyone who thinks cats are superior , have never been saved by a dog..Dogs are loyal..and protective..cats couldn't give a care..and its all about them.

If people really like cats because its some ancient symbol of some goddess..then its a silly reason....all wrapped up in ego. If they actually think cats are smarter than dogs..they are delusional.

By the way..welcome to ATS ..lol..you'll see the diversity as you read more..

Your idea of smart..may not be so smart. Dogs can be trained much easier than cats on just about anything..and they will fight to the death for you. Cats are just waaay over rated... though I don't hate them.

Dogs need walking, which leads to contact with my crazy neighbors I prefer to stay locked up with my cats!
