First off, forgive me if this has already been posted. It would be nice to be able to search the forum by the youtube video number.

Although what this man is talking about doesn't justify violence in any form or ripping up your neighbor's store, it is a unique new perspective to others outside of Brittain as to why the riots happened. This was most definitely an organized event.

Possibly the right points to make but from the wrong person. If it were from the protesters then ok.
The problems that he mentions are deep rooted and has been that way for a long time.
Will it change?
No

I disagree, its what 95% of the rioters are thinking, all youths ever hear is how worthless they are, how social services are being cut, the education system stinks.........the bankers and MPs get away scott free robbing the people blind....why cant they?

Yea I know, not exactly the best solution an eye for an eye.....but like the gyuy said they've got nothing to loose

I don't think anyone can really argue with what this man is saying. I believe that if these riots continue they will start becoming more organized, and as the man said, they got a reaction, the wrong reaction, but a reaction.

Have you listened to the numerous interviews / voice recordings of the rioters? I've heard several and all they've been is 'we're doing it because we can, to show the police they can't stop us'. Another was 'because it's fun, getting a good kick out of this!' and another I heard was 'why not? we won't get caught'.

They're causing havok because they can.

Pity he doesn't know what hes talking about.

Every time someone is shot by a police officer in the UK an enquiry is undertaken.

The IPCC were investigating that incident before the riots broke out

Thursday 4 August

18:15 BST - Mark Duggan, 29, is shot dead by police at Ferry Lane, Tottenham.

The death occurs during an operation where specialist firearm officers and officers from Operation Trident, the unit which deals with gun crime in the African and Caribbean communities, are attempting to carry out an arrest.

Mr Duggan is a passenger in a minicab and is shot after an apparent exchange of fire. A police officer's radio is later found to have a bullet lodged in it.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) announces it will investigate the incident and later says it believes two shots were fired by police. It also confirms that an illegal firearm was recovered from the scene.

www.bbc.co.uk...

The violence started at 20.20 on the Friday night.

Yeah, but unfortunately with severe austerity the focus doesn't fall too far from their own reality. This is what TPTB get for removing liberal education to secure their working class.

Now the system needs jobs to support what their policies have created. The UK can't afford to put them all in the military or prison.

Not all of them I'm not 100% against rioters. The only major problem is the way they do it but if you would be in their situation you would reconsider your thinking on this one I am sure. In thier position I would do the same without hesitation.

I agree with you, it's not entirely their fault.

It's not their fault that most of them have been brought up in broken families, haven't been taught how to behave properly by their parents, haven't had strong role models to make them want to achieve in life. Coupled with lack of motivation in school means they don't have strong job prospects.

But still, anyone with half a brain can tell that setting fire to innocent peoples businesses and homes is wrong.

If they want to make a point they could take their anger to the police station, houses of parliment, banks ...

The reality of this is that most of them I believe are not even aware of the banks oligarchy, the government being under their control, etc. As some of ATSers said, maybe they are not acting the right way but at least they are trying to do something which is better than not doing anything. Even considering the bad side of the medal, in my opinion, something has to be done. Do not forget that in any major changes or great revolutions negative aspects do come to surface but sometimes for better times it is necessary.
