Guns, Laws, and Panics - How Fear, Not Fact, Informs the Gun Rights Debate

youtu.be...
California has among the strictest gun laws in the country, and couple of local politicians are seizing the opportunity created by the Arizona shooting to make them even stricter. While most states operate under a "shall issue" concealed carry weapons (CCW) permitting regime, meaning that anyone who passes a basic background check can get a CCW, California uses the "may issue" rule, which means the decision is left to the sole discretion of the county sheriff.

This one...caughs...gentelman... wants to ban open carry... so what is the real truth about open carry????

Despite the fact that crime rates are down nation wide and that there has never been a reported incident of an Open Carrier hurting someone, Portantino stands firm that the practice is a public danger and a drain on police resources. He also says he has no plans on introducing legislation to loosen up concealed carry laws.

Humm makes you wonder

Well daddy, seems like theres not much good news out there for gun owners.....
I have to say though that the Canadian govt is finally introducing legislation to scrap the Long Gun registry in Canada.
This is a major step in the right direction.
As i am now finsihed serving my ten year gun ban(Thanks to a parting shot by my ex old lady)
I may be able to get myself a rifle again.
Though i doubt ill ever own another hand gun in these climes....
They are far more restricted.
Claifornia is part of the USA NO?
What about 2nd amendment rights are they not equal for ALL Americans?
How do states ever get into the equation anyways?
didnt they all ratify the constitution to get into statehood?
This has always bothered me aabout the situation down there...too many agencies making too many extra laws over a RIGHT< that was not to be INFRINGED!!!

California thinks herself to be a country in her own right...
granted in the global picture this single state has the worlds fifth largest economy...
still for years now there are groups of Northern Californians who wish to split the state in two... citing those government officials who all live and work in southern Cali have lost touch with reality and not all of Cali is Hollywood...

Just glad I dont live there... But I still chose to support those who do and only want their rights to protect themselves and their families

I do not have the source for this. A friend of mine's father sent it to me in an e-mail.

Very important to know , but what can we do ????

For the last several years a company called The Freedom Group has been
buying up gun and ammunition manufacturers. Some of the companies are
Bushmaster, Marlin, Remington, DPMS, Dakota Arms and H&R. Some people worry
that this Freedom Group is going to control most of the firearms
companies in the United States . If you control the manufacturers you can
decide to stop selling to civilians. What a perfect way to control guns.
Now if you do some digging you will see that The Freedom Group is owned
by a company called Cerberus Capital Management. Guess who controls
Cerberus??? GEORGE SOROS !!!!!!!!! One of the most evil men on this
planet who wants to restrict or ban all civilian guns. Please pass this
on to all your freedom loving friends. This needs to come out. Why have
we not heard about this in the "mainstream" media? I would think this
would be BIG news.

If you don't know who George Soros is you need to do some research.
He backed Obama with millions of dollars and Obama is a puppet on a
string controlled by Soros. Send this to every gun owner in America.

According to Snopes, this is false.

The NRA is said to also back these two groups up as being pro 2nd amendment.
