One of Britain's rarest spiders is being reintroduced at a nature preserve in Dorset. Ladybird spiders were once feared to be extinct in the UK but recently numbers have been rising. On Thursday, a new colony is being moved to a species-rich heathland reserve.

This is amazing! An almost extict species has been brought back from the brink and is being reintroduced. Sadly, only about 30 will be released, but there are more than a thousand in captive breeding. I'm not a big fan of spiders, in general, but I'm pulling for these little guys. It would be so frightening to have your species nearly go extinct.

Yeah it would be pretty frightening, but if it happened to us it would be much deserved haha.
