Think of the possibilities with space travel and propulsion....
Oh my!

But would the same principle work with no air/gravity... someone enlighten me =D

Wow,thanks OP.

That was really interesting.

I never that would be the case to be honest.

One thing i did assume though, was that nature can do everything we can, plus more, but better.

And that just proved it even more for me.

Cheers

Wait, where did my idea get derailed?

I lol'd

OT: Amazing video! Never would have guessed fungi spores to be the fastest accelerators. I wonder what other amazing things fungus has done that we have yet to discover?

WOW Interesting

Fastest thing Alive on planet Earth!

the Sac has Incredible Holding Power !

What got me more interested is the WHY !!!!
from what he said

Thats Seems Like an Intelligent Design !

if its Not

How would a Parasitic Fungi (Flora-- Plant) Evolve to Move Out of the Way to a Further untouched Land by itself !

The Gods Have Humor !

Something that breaks down poop so that we don't have to step in it any longer than necesscery.

Good answer. Perfect answer.

Good to see "the Hamster" on something besides Top Gear UK. They do a lot of acceleration tests on that show too. But now that we know this..I guarantee there are Science geeks with magnifying glasses, nuzzling up to poo all over the world to see if there is a relative of this fungus that might be even faster!

Have to say im pretty impressed by that, I mean the fungus among us is the fastest thing in the world. Very hard to beileve I just learned an important fact and it had to do with a resident of poop. Once again very nice sir

Great vid and well done Sir.

I suppose the only question to answer is...
'What would the Fan have to be made out of to withstand that sort
of speed, I mean... when the sh** it's it'

Again, well done.

If it can shoot that far, it can shoot into your sinuses. Lat thing anyone needs is horse poop fungus infections in their nasal cavaties.

I think that little horse wanted to eat it's own poop...

what a bizarre piece of research.

maybe the boys and girls at nasa could learn a thing or two from this

Actually I'd say it's an excellent example of standard evolutionary theory.

The fungi that don't throw the spores far enough to land in clean grass... simply don't get eaten. Eventually all that are left are the ones that DO throw the spores far enough. Survival of the fittest. The ones with the odd genetic mutation that allow for wider distribution eventually replace the ones that lack the ability.

No intelligent design needed.

If I'm not mistaken..it's a type of mushroom..? He did mention that it was fungus and it grew on horse poop. Mushrooms grow in cow poop and is also a fungus. If somebody has a better explanation for what this could be please comment and let me know.

wow that is amazingly cool .. and who would have known now to find a way to harness the speed of these so we can reach mars faster or make a telepod .
