US demographers have predicted the increase of the worlds population over the next 50 years.
With no real "news": there will be more poor and less rich.

The world is heading for wildly uneven population swings in the next 45 years, with many rich countries "downsizing" during a period in which
almost all developing nations will grow at breakneck speed, according to a comprehensive report by leading US demographers released yesterday.
They predict that at least an extra 1,000 million will be living in the world's poorest African countries by 2050. There will be an extra 120 million
more Americans, and India will leapfrog China to become the world's most populous country. One in six people in western Europe will be over the age
of 65 by 2050.

Does anyone here remember the National Security Study Memorandum 200 (NSSM200) ? This outlines the US stance on the world population.
Basically the poor should not breed as much, as this will endanger American claims to natural resources and the like.
Overpopulation is a MYTH!
Its not the amount of people its the distribution.
If we would all move to a city and live at the density of downtown new-york, we could fit into one big city the size of a european country say
germany. Imagine a Mega-City1 from Judge Dredd. Ok its going to be one big stinky city but... the rest of the planet would be untouched!
