For the past several months we have had a significant escalation of random violence in the US. Flash mobs/flash robs, wanton violence across the country from Philadelphia, to Chicago, to Wisconsin to Iowa and those are only the incidents that have been heavily reported in the main stream press. Two more lovely stories today about a gent who was simply hammered with brass knuckles while riding his bike

philadelphia.cbslocal.com...

And a heart-warming story of a disabled woman being beaten in a parking lot while loading her groceries into her car.

www.wistv.com...

Where is the President on this issue? Why has the President not come out very publically and talked about these anti-social acts? These issues are racial in nature and yet we have who was supposed to be the “post racial” President missing in action.

Does he not think the issue is important enough for him to speak about it? Is he afraid of alienating his strongest base of support, that being African Americans? Is he making a political calculation that these incidents make the case for more government spending under the guise of “jobs”? Is there a calculation that the anticipation of increased racial tension and the potential of significant racial tension should he lose the election will help his election bid? Is he so self absorbed at his current political misfortunes that he is too preoccupied?

With unrest rampant in England and other unrest in China, Spain, the Philippines, Greece, Israel, Portugal and Syria it is pretty clear that there is a potential contagion element of this unrest and yet, we, once again see Obama missing in action.

I’m curious as to what folks here think is the motivation/cause of his lack of what clearly would be a responsible action to take and that would be to forcefully repudiate this behavior.

Sounds like the community organizer has been busy...What else does he need to say. Isn't chaos lovely....

Our President doesn't have the experience or knowledge to deal with violent unrest. He depends on his minions...Who just want our guns and are working very hard to manipulate us into giving them up.

Why would he, no one will like the answer:

For the police state to be welcomed with open arms, he NEEDS this unrest, violence, and rioting. It's all part of the play, and let me tell you, act 3 is going to be epic

....
Please stand by for an important address from the President of the United States:

During this time of violence and unrest it is clear to me that the only solution to protect the citizens of this great nation is to declare Martial Law. Please stay in your homes until the FEMA representative shows up and assigns you a number, this is your new name. Please follow the FEMA agents onto the buses as they are taking you to a SAFE location. Do not attempt to avoid evacuation, do not attempt to stockpile food. The government is here to HELP you. All local and state infrastructure will now be under the control of the federal government, and by extension, FEMA. All gas and fuel of any kind, as well as supplies including, but not limited to, guns, ammo, explosives, food stuffs, CB radios, transistor radios are now declared contraband. all farms and grocery stores are now the property of the Federal Government.

Thank you and good night

He couldn't possibly pull a Mayor Nutter and tell it like it is without potentially screwing up his ludicrously one sided support among them. Why would he wait this long to put on his leadership hat?

At some point a failure to make a statement about what is now happening on a very regular basis and is becoming a very public national story amounts essentially a tacit approval of these actions.

Should it escalate and he has done nothing in an effort to provide calm, he will be seen as a part of the problem.

And rightly so

Isn’t this the goal behind every democrat? To bring this Nation down to the level of other countries? To lower us in power, economics, status, etc? He was just successful with lowering our credit rating. He is continuing to decrease the size of our military. I could go on and on. But my point being, this all can't be a fluke. This has to be intentional, doesn't it?
