In some cases, war was necessary... think of WW2 and the terrible things Hitler was doing...someone need to stop that but when you look at the industries nowadays that rely on war to keep up with supply and demand, that is different. Locheed Martin, Haliburton etc ... There is an economic pressure that perhaps was not there before? War drives the economy ...

Except we didn't go to war to save the Jews or the Roma or the people in Manchukoku or anywhere else. These became post facto justifications. And sure, no argument, these empires had to be stopped... but that wasn't why the allies did it.
